That for me is the mark of a true actor. He did not care that he would not be recognised. He used that incredible makeup to inhabit a different human being and did a fantastic job.

He just did a lot of crap/lesser movies specifically in the late 90’s-2000’s years so people used to laugh at him and be like oh God Colin Farrel is playing this guy or got casted as this guy for that movie. But he has also been in some phenomenal films. Minority report is like one of the best films that has ever been made. His quality of films that he has been in in more recent years has improved for sure
I've always thought Colin was an underappreciated actor (not that he wasn't famous already) and seemingly all around good dude, so I've been so happy to see him get so many amazing roles recently. If you haven't seen Sugar yet, check it out.

He's a great actor. Super handsome too, shame about all his drug addictions. The reason his son is a restard is because he was blowing drug fuelled loads into his girlfriend.
To me he was the best thing about the movie. That makeup and prosthetics had him looking like a totally different person and his performance was so great.
The 'Visage', facial expressions, accent/voice of this character are all monumental. Standing ovation for all of those involved behind the scenes, and on the screen. Truly insane work

When I saw Colin Farrell's name in the credits for The Batman. I had zero, ZERO idea where he was in the movie. Was he maybe the Joker laughing at the very end? I had NO IDEA Colin was The Penguin. Masssssssssive Respect.
Farrell is an exemplary example of the kind of actor who literally and figuratively disappears into his roles. I found his work in "Saving Mr. Banks" absolutely astonishing, and his role wasn't even the focal point of the entire film. In fact, I'd argue that his was the best performance despite that character being all about flashbacks.
I’ve known Colin was gonna be Penguin since before The Batman came out and still can’t believe it’s him behind the makeup. That team does such a good job it doesn’t even look like they were there.
Just goes to show how fucking good he was in this role, didn't get to fall back on his star power or his looks because even going into it knowing he was playing the penguin, I actually forgot it was him and was just enamoured with the character depiction. I'd say Tom Hardy is another great example as Bane, couldn't see half his face but his on screen presence in every scene of TDKR was absolutely immense.
He recently just wrapped on the penguin tv show and has said the exact opposite, and legit said he never wants to wear that makeup again for the rest of his life… he said he *would* but that he hates it now lol
To be fair, his main gripe was the fat suit he had to wear for the interrogation since they couldn't do it like Chris Hemsworth's in Avengers Endgame and kinda cheat it. He had to be butt ass nekkid for multiple takes

“I’m just not even there, man”. The fact that they were able to do such transformative work, yet still maintain so much of the original character’s essence- it can’t be understated how hard it was for them for break the uncanny valley but they blasted off.
I personally feel like this is one of the best roles ever played. I’m really happy he’s getting so much credit but I truly believe it will be appreciated thru the years.
