Jerome, you are certainly not afraid of working on the Adenium plants! Great job with this one. You are the fearless Adenium King. You inspire me to try me to not be afraid of working with my Adenium plant. I only have two of them, but I would like to have more. Hopefully, I will as I continue to work on fear of growing them and working with them. Thanks for your bravery which is encouraging me to do more with my Adeniums. Thanks for the video! Phil from Boston.👍😍👀💖
Philip Tavella hey Philip! Adenium King 🤴 🤔 I like it! Make sure you massage the branches while bending and don’t water them for at least a couple weeks before bending anything. Thank you so much, I really appreciate your feedback!
Jerome you have such a difference in seasonal planning than we do in Canada. Interesting to see that plants have a sleeping pattern in what we would consider late spring early summer. Very informative thanks.
Very impressive! You have a great eye/vision to create something spectacular. Good luck with your business. I enjoy my adeniums even though they don't have the structure seen in this video.
This is fascinating. I know nothing about bonsai, just trying to learn. Thus my basic question. For how long do the wires have to stay on the tree? How do you know when to remove them?
Hello! Perfect video and beautiful bonsai. Was it cold in Florida in December? You should see the winter here in Slovakia .... Thanks again for the video
Nothing like bending 1 inch think branches. I know it is a suculent like plant.. but still WOW! That will look amazing when in it blooms! I was a little worried about some of those thick branches you cut off.. But, for the wind swept look you definitely made the correct choice in my opinion!
Hi Jerome - Please help. I moved from Philly to New Orleans and I am nervous about winterizing my cold hardy trees to ensure dormancy. My maples, hornbeams, Poms and other deciduous trees have dropped leaves but its still rainy and warm some days. I have an outdoor shed, should I put the trees away and stop watering? What do you do in Ft. Lauderdale with trees like Elms that need a winter? Do you put conifers that require dormancy away for winter? This was much simpler in Philly where there is an actual winter. Great video and tree - I picked up an adenium here in New Orleans after seeing yours in past videos.
Mark Mondrinos hey Mark! Unfortunately, I don’t know too much about winter dormancy in cold climates. I would visit a local garden shop or a nursery and ask them. I don’t have to over winter any deciduous trees here in Florida, It doesn’t get cold enough. I’m glad I was able to inspire you to get an Adenium, they are one of my favored species to work with.
Hi Jerome. I have one big size adenium RCN twin trunk. When I bought it 4 months back it had a slight crack between the two trunks. Now as it is growing bigger the crack size is also increasing. I had applied fevicol previously. What can I do now?
Hey Xavier! I believe that it is very necessary to give your trees a resting period so that they can grow through the following year without getting exhausted and weak
Looks very interesting but I’m wondering if an actual windswept adenium exists in nature. Looks a bit more like an adenium blown on its side. (Says the person who’s killed about 20 adeniums 😉) Great video as usual. Thanks
Just for the sake of discussion...why does it matter if such an adenium does or could exist in nature? The naturalistic style is great, but isn't it equally valid to treat the tree as an artistic medium used for creating an abstract vision of a tree?
Hey Matt, thank you for the feedback! There is an island near India called socotra and some of the adeniums that grow there along the coast are windswept, there’s even adeniums growing out of the side of cliffs.
Mark Mondrinos good point Mark. I do like to style trees as they grow in nature but at the same time I like to create crazy and abstract trees that might only exist in my mind 🙂
Palmer are you sure about that? That’s a pretty strong statement! Check out the socotra island. Not only does that island have windswept adeniums on the coast, theres even adeniums that grow out of the side of cliffs.
Jerome, you look much more warmer now, back in the shorts! A really nice Adenium made even better!
Nigel Saunders, The Bonsai Zone Nigel I still haven’t fully thawed! I feel a lot more comfortable in shorts vs. 15 layers of clothes 😂
Wow Nigel!!
Beautiful desert rose👍
Huge improvement.. well done
Thank you Matthew
Beautiful tree and techniques. Thanks for the video.
I like watching him work with Adeniums!

Philip Tavella thank you for your kind words! I’m happy to hear you are encouraged to work on your trees! That’s the goal :)

Lyle Fisher hey Lyle! Thank you for the feedback and compliment🙏🙂🌳
Thank you, I'm a adenium lover, and if you can show me more smaller trees you'll make me happy. Don't stop, Virgile from Guadeloupe
Thanks.
Hi, to keep it bonsai do you trim the top of branches often?
Hi! Do you guys still sell that limestone paste. Couldn't seem to find it.

Looks good and you got a free workout. 😉
Michael McCarthy can’t complain! :)
How long will the wires stay on for ? I’m living in Thailand now so, I have access to a few varieties at home.
Mike Martin hey Mike, the wire will stay on until it starts to dig into the branches
What is the best soil for adanium
This is the soil mix we use - all purpose bonsai soil mix www.amazon.com/shop/wearethebonsaisupply?listId=3C2O8MMRK32VE
Ok sir
So what happens to all the cut off’s but the customer and get them or do you make them a tree side of them just curious
Dave Rodas hey Dave, the customer gets them🙂
Is the winter dormancy period required or optional?

Yep, that’s what makes the world go round.

Dude, you are a plant surgeon on steroids.
Windswept Adeniums don't exist on the planet. Unless you dig it up and lay it down on it's side. It's your bonsai, enjoy.

@@WeareTheBonsaiSupply And even if they would not exist... who cares?
