You did an amazing job on that van. It looks like Cadillac made their own version of the Chevy Astro/GMC Safari. Seeing how this came out it's a shame that Cadillac didn't actually make their own version.

@MyGuy I think the station wagon was a hit and fast. They make a 70s looking van with a custom wrap or airbrush it would sell. Mini fridge, carpet and a bed in the back. If that van is rocking don't bother knocking sticker on the bumper. The FUN that could be had....lol 🤣

This was one of General Motors biggest mistakes to stop makeing these vans for the work truck segment . They were easier to park in tight areas then a full-size .These with vortec 4.3 was a good running work truck and could even get AWD

The fact the Astro is such a tenacious vehicle could be chalked up to be a mistake in and of itself. Considering Ford's equivalents in other vehicles have outlived the GM versions, OBS versus GMT, Econoline vs Express, Crown Victoria vs Caprice, both on the market and on the road, the Astro was the sole exception in that it outlasted the Aerostar. When was the last time you saw one of those? GM realized they made a solid car and had it killed.

Amazing M Van Man! My Dad helped launch this model in 85. Baltimore Assembly Truck Group built theses from 1985 to 2005. Chevy Astro and GMC Safari were the models and it was a 70/30 mix on the production line or less.... The Factory had over 2 Million sq ft of production and assembly space. The plant is no longer there but I worked there for 6.5 years and actually restored a 1986 model for my Dad in 2003. GREAT job and keep posting these customizations of the MVan!

Looks great man, I've got a 94 AWD CS EXT myself...best 4.3L, AWD, sweet stock gold tweed and velour type interior, and the extended version (even though I've always thought the little ones looked better). I actually thought about lifting mine and throwing some 30x10.5r16 offroad tires on mine, seeing as I'm out in frozen ND 😅
My 89 Baby DeVille is on 20s though with Sundown U15v2's and full interior audio.... and my 97 GMC RCSB K1500(which I've always thought about buying a first gen Escalade or Yukon Denali front clip for, the rounder style Escalades, they look identical to the 1st Yukon Denali, I've always thought about it because who has a lifted standard cab short bed on 35x12.5" wheels and tires with an Escalade/Denali front clip? Nobody 😅 never got around to it, maybe one day lol) is on a 6" lift on 35x12.5r15 Patagonia's and 15x10 polished ProComp wheels
Edit: yo that back 3rd taillight...if that's hollow underneath and is able to grab airflow from the roof and direct it down towards your back window....is actually keeping dirt and grime from collecting on your back window lol.... I'm going to assume you didn't know that and is one of those "happy accidents" 😅 my Astro because I'm always driving it in the rain and snow and crap(plus this little town I live in is surrounded by farmland), my back window is always filthy.... I should make a little turn down spoiler to keep the dirt off mine 🤣

Clean brother, one of the cleanest mods I've ever seen on an Astro van, and I think the idea was just pure genius

This build is pretty awesome 🙂 the way the front end fitment is & shape of the vehicle kinda reminds me of kei vans from Japan a bit

See a lot of cracking and orange peel when you get close up to the front fender and back liftgate. Ive seen some astros i like. Mainly the 4wd ones done up to go offroad. The amount of hours that went into this you really need a flawless finish in the end to make it worth the time
