It's full of nonsense. Gentleman in the black shirt says Russia wants all of Ukraine not just the Donbass, that's fear mongering designed to throw Europeans into paranoia. Ukraine is a clearly divided country like Germany, look at their voting history these 30 years of Independence. Many videos proving that eastern civilians are sympathetic to Russia like East Germany. If Kyiv wasn't so desperate to extract their resources, they'd have recognized and respected their Independence so they can be free to join NATO. But wisdom is short in Kyiv, they're learning the very, very hard way.
Do an analysis what will be left of Ukraine after this war, how it will recover from this, because it's questionable if the West will actually going to go though on massive investments in full or people returning to places that are now rubble, leaving all of their jobs in they got now in the EU. Ukraine is being depopulated and it's infrastructure being obliterated every day, the longer this lasts for, the more grim it looks for Ukraine.
Oh shush you, the West rebuilt all of Europe just fine after both world war one and world war two. Even Russia managed to glue itself back together after those conflicts. Realistically a proper Study of the consequences, should have been carried out decades ago, before NATO began its East Ward Expansion in the Mid 1990s under President WB Clinton and the USA's "Project for a New American Century" (PNAC) 1996.
Russia's got 1 important advantage over the West though: determination. Western leaders are more worried about their immediate electoral prospects, and so only want to make sure things stabilise quickly in the short term. Russian leaders though, plan for the long term, and are far more likely to lose their lives if they fail, and so are much more motivated to succeed.
Not really, the elections mean nothing as we can see all electable parties are NATO countries. The difference consists in the fact that for Russia Ukraine matters. For the West, Ukraine is a disposable trojan horse.

When I started writing this comment it resulted in me giving four paragraphs of detailed insight into my view on politics, so I stop on only pointing some parts out of the video, without necessarily commenting them. Although I will say - both sides play the game of geopolitics; here the means are the same on both sides, and there is only one final goal - global hegemony.
The usual Russian apologist spiel. No promise was ever made that Russia could veto the expansion of NATO; it repeatedly accepted in legally binding treaties that it acknowledged the sovereignty of its former satellite states, and a basic element of that sovereignty, denied to them under the Soviet yoke, is the right to enter or leave alliances as they choose. Knowing Russia for what it has always been, most of those states rushed to join NATO, as we see for good reason. NATO did not rush in, but rather was invited in by the sovereign states, all peaceful democracies, that wished to join it for protection against Russia. Nobody compelled them to do so, and it is exactly Russia’s inability to accept the sovereignty of neighboring countries that has driven NATO’s expansion. The problem is Russia, the solution is NATO. Dictatorships can never be granted veto power over the actions of democracies.
@@mebsreaand what if Mexico joined Russia’s purely defensive alliance? The US will lose their shit. And what if before inviting Mexico, Russia started spreading anti-US sentiments? But there are examples of NATO being on the offensive. Western hypocrisy is phenomenal. Spreading terror in half of the world in the name of freedom and democracy. But even if we omit this point, in 1997 there was the Founding act signed between NATO and Russia, where both sides declared they will refrain from tearing Europe into blocks and from violence. Missing the pre-2007 diplomatic actions that directly lead to the events from 2007 onwards is clearly misrepresenting the case; Russia's attempt to enter NATO and the US opposition, as well as the US using NATO as a pawn to pressure Russia so as to avoid economical integration with Europe in any degree are very much instigating factors here. From the US perspective, Europe is a vital area when it comes to economical competition. The idea that Russia could integrate with the rest of Europe and perhaps form a nuclear block that can directly compete with the US was pretty much an existential nightmare for them. It would be impossible for them to veer off to Asia to contain China if Europe could still maintain a good economic relationship with Europe. By playing fiddle to US political pressure for 20+ years instead of pursuing our own European interests, we are, in the long term, resigning Europe to geopolitical insignificance.

Whether that be true or false, Western Europe does not need or want its incorporation with dictatorships. You imagine Russia joining "The West" to form a happy band, skipping hand-in-hand towards the setting sun. Ain't gonna happen. The same applies to China. Both are a long way from our democratic systems and hold themselves distant thereby.
If you're really "European" (doubtful), you're no idea what you're talking about and are highly misinformed. Learn some history why and how EU and NATO was created and how they changed after 1990. By the end of this week you'll see if US will stay a trusted ally at all in the near future. If not, you'll get your wish of maximal soverignity which comes with military sabotage, which won't increase our chances to withstanding a nuclear, totalitarian/autocratic anti-western axis. Here's the news and reason why your subverted views are harmful: we're in a hybrid WW3 now, which only will escalate. There's no easy way out. Understand that nothing from the current Russian government can remain after Putin. Not one office, Not one idea. Nothing can remain, the new structure has to be built from the ground up.
Putin did not come up with Russia. He is continuing a foreign policy strategy that has formed over hundreds of years based on Russian geography, neighbors, competitors, etc. Even some of the most liberal Russian opposition leaders, like Navalny, supported Russian military interventionism to prevent NATO expansion. In case of Navalny in particular he was opposed to how kind and gentle Russia was in regards to Georgia in 2008 and called for an earlier intervention - that was his "opposition to the status quo". He of course ended up retracting his statements over the years - but he was much like an American leader in that regard: warmongering and ruthless but always apologetic after the deed is done, then rinse and repeat. The Russian government is entirely legitimate. It is one of the most significant cultures known to world with one of the richest histories and a truly sovereign governance system.

Harry Potter was one of my favourite series, I remember the joy that each new HP book brought to me. My father was a dedicated Reader's Digest subscriber. We dreamed of becoming part of the West. Many of us did, or, at least, did try - through emigration, or, like me, - learning the language and browsing English-speaking resourses, sharing and picking up ideas, opinions, memes, etc. I remember this in real time, watching TV news with my father: NATO membership was denied, relationships deteriorated gradually, step by step...

13:30 "Russia would simply become a federation" - exactly what we tried in 1990. 9:50 "[Some] still say we should reach a deal, [but]" 10:30 "Russia draws imaginary red lines for us but it doesn't draw any red lines for itself." - yes, they began drawing a red line on NATO expanding east of Germany, but apparently we also only draw red lines for others and continue our expansionism.
And what about proceeding with Canada? We all know what would happen.
Oh, by the way, do you know any examples of NATO defending? Because I struggle to remember. But there are examples of NATO being on the offensive. Western hypocrisy is phenomenal. Spreading terror in half of the world in the name of freedom and democracy. No wonder so many countries want to join BRICS now. They were victims for decades and nobody cared
True - but the democratic value here is that nations have the freedom to choose. You say winner takes all. I say we need to try to defy that conclusion.
@@mebsrea how about US and European democracies supporting Yeltsin who shot his Parliament from tanks because this Parliament refused to accept Yetlsin's ways of reforms which perfectly aligned with the Western vision? Funnily enough this vision very much resembles to what US was making in Latin America.
Your talks on democracy is a complete and brazen lie. You guys only don't like the dictators which are not handy for you.
But even if we omit this point, in 1997 there was the Founding act signed between NATO and Russia, where both sides declared they will refrain from tearing Europe into blocks and from violence. To each other AS WELL AS to the 3rd party countries. Since then happened what? Not UN backed bombardment of Yugoslavia in 1999 (!), Iraq bombing with deceiving the UN on Iraq leadership wielding biological weapon, then Lybia, Syria...and it was sorta okay for you. But when it's Russia in same Syria, Georgia or Ukraine - it makes you squeak.

Without Russia, there's no NATO 😅😅😅,it's would be useless.so the Americans don't want to loose their source of income from the European 😅😅& to control then 😅😅
Whether that be true or false, Western Europe does not need or want its incorporation with dictatorships.
Europe is more relevant and least complying to US needs than ever, despite being its largest trade partner.
We unite with allies and do what's necessary or perish, it's everyone's collective choice.
