    Every completed Su-57 is flying with older engines installed. The intended engine is still in development caused by reliability and performance issues. As a result, they can't achieve mach-1 without afterburner (both the F-22 and F-35 achieves this easily), nor does it have the engine power required to meet the impressive maneuverability claims.

    • @markcooke5270

    Russian state media has touted the Su-57 fighter jet as a formidable, fifth-generation aircraft.
    It's the type of jet that would theoretically thrive in the Ukraine war, but it's been mostly absent.
    Aviation experts and Western intel say Russia may not want to risk any reputational damage.
    Having formidable aircraft without the pilot skills to use them to maximum benefit makes them useless!

      India already had several big problems with their T-90 tanks. They don't want to risk losing further military hardware sales. But if it was as stealth as Russia claims. They wouldn't be intimidated about flying over ukraine.

    • @Writeous0ne
      @Writeous0ne 11 месяцев назад

      @@BrianBehe how do you know they haven't? But no, the truth is they don't need to use it because it's a fighter jet that can always be used for long range missile strikes. It's not a strike fighter and Russia don't need it for air superiority because Ukraines air force was wiped out pretty early on. Russias main doctrine now is to use artillery on infantry targets and to use missile strikes on anti air units... they are methodically destroying Ukraines air defenses until eventually they won't have enough to cover all of the front line. The West are already getting uncomfortable with the amount of air defense pieces and ammunition they have that they can't really afford to fulfill Ukraines need in this area in a long term war as Russias endless supply of missiles will only keep destroying the donated pieces.

      It's not a true stealth fighter. Russia knows that and will freely admit that. Else they would have done better with the engines and air ducts. It's meant to buy time. It might have the RCS of a beach ball, but it's better than the RCS of a house. Second, it's a left over from the Soviet Union meant to compete with planes like the YF-22 when spies first learned of its development.
      The Soviets have always been good enough budget designers. Like Chinese knockoffs before Chinese knock offs. Only, the Russian Federation has recycled their designs, rarely improving on anything if anything.

    Mikhail Pogosyan (MiG), present General Director of Sukhoi Design Bureau, designed the Sukhoi SU-47 "Berkut", (Russian: Сухой Су-47 Беркут, "Golden Eagle") (NATO name "Firkin"). Cancelled 1998, precursor to SU-57 "Falon", as with SU-57, are prototype aircraft, never fully complete or matured to fully operational combat ready roles as fighter jets, for any nation. Sukhoi's internal designation for the aircraft is T-50. The first prototype SU-57 flew in 2010 (three exist), total of 11 produced as of December 2022, remain incomplete and not operational, they likely never will be.

    Why is the SU-57 absent from Ukraine?
    It should be obvious to anyone.
    Russia in not at all trying to take more territory in Ukraine except when it's necessary to defend Russian territory from attack. Putin's strategy is purely defensive. It is also extremely frugal, using older, less costly arms whenever possible.
    This is in direct contrast to the US which, in an effort to win the war quickly is pouring more and more advanced weapons into the war.
    The US spends a hundred million dollars a day just for Ukraine.
    And then it has a huge military budget as well.
    Russia doesn't spend half that much.
    Russia's strategy is to bankrupt the US.
    And it's working.
    Russia's more advanced weaponry is being kept in reserve for the time when western nations actually get involved in the war.

    • @metalpuppet5798
      @metalpuppet5798 Год назад

      Nato wont get involved. They arent threatening Russia in any way. If anything Russia might attack NATO. But even that wont happen because Putin knows that Russia has zero chance against NATO forces. Russia basically wouldnt exist anymore after a war against NATO. That cant be Putins goal. Hes after power and territories

    Russia: early January 2024. We didn’t lose three SU-34s. Unfortunately they were shot down by us accidentally.
    Russia: middle of January (after having IL-76 shot down). We have a system that won’t allow our missiles to fire on our own jets. So it’s impossible for friendly fire to happen.

    Putin cant deploy the SU-57 because there were only 10 built, and reportedly only 5 that are flight ready. The SU-57 Felon also has Pitot's sticking out of the skin, non-stealthy engines, and panel gaps that would give away a larger than desireable radar return. If perfected it could be formidable opponent. But "could Be" is the problem with many issues for the Occupying Russian Commander's (ORC'S).
