This Pat classic has plenty to interest everyone. Pat takes us to parts of the area we would never want to visit. He talks about the old "Semen's Mission" - "still a bit of pussy walking around" - "The prices are quite reasonable and so they should be". Watch and listen carefully. These gems are slipped into every orifice with the relaxed professionalism we expect from an real pro.

What a great reminder for me in this video. I first visited Bangkok courtesy of the Royal Australian Navy in 1982. We were berthed at the Bangkok Port berth right in front of the Port Authority building. As such Klong Toey was a first stop beer bar destination with a minibus dropping us at the end of the wharf road and on the corner of Thanon Tarua 3 ( 8:41 ). There were still some bars around the corner then that provided a few heart starters before heading off to the salubrious attractions of Soi Cowboy or Patpong by tuk-tuk (never taxi). I have particular memories of the sights (and smells!) of the Khlong Toey Markets while heading up from that corner looking for a cab ....what an eye opener. Thanks for the reminder of a fun area which introduced me to the world that is Asia....it was an awesome time. Cheers

Four months later out of the blue, I get an email from her, asking me if I was still looking for a job. She connected me to my employer and the rest is history. Nice camerawork & software knowledge - I thought merging yourself was expensive to do, or is he your twin brother lol. I got down to Songkhla a few yrs back, and heard about some pretty wild nights, when the oil rig workers come into town - must have been like Mosquito Bar in the 70's.

Glad you enjoyed it Harry, the two of me part is actually quite tricky getting the timings right for talking with myself!

Thank you so much for your lovely videos, which show so much work put into each. Good luck for the future. You bring back so many memories as I first arrived in Bangkok in 1982. Seems like yesterday ||||.

Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed that exploration as much as I did. Great area with something different lurking round the many corners.

Hi Pat! Every time you mention FLYOVER, I keep looking up at the sky! In the States, we call them OVERPASS.

I say this every time you include them.
But I really like The Millennium Residence.
I’d be quite happy having an apartment in there.
    On the upper floors.

Another great job Pat. High quality and informative. Khlong Toei should be a must visit for tourists that wanna have a sly geezer at some SEA slums. But also, because it's a very interesting place with all manner of friendly inhabitants, good food, cheap beers.

Thanks Nick, it's bit messy and disorganised for tourists to get a sense of direction but still a must see to get a glimpse into an area still retaining its old school character.
