fuckin hell man that firebird might have the best neck pickup sound I've EVER heard.

Lollar makes Firebird pickups in humbucker size: they sound fantastic. There's something about Firebird pickups: the clarity and separation of single coils, with the beefiness of humbuckers.
Me I enjoy a really good humbuck pickup. Beefiness is a splendid way off describing them 👍

The Gibson Firebird sounded amazing... Those small humbuckers sound like a p90, a single coil and humbucker all at once.

That LP Deluxe looks a lot like my father's one, but I think his was a '71 (he bought it a couple of years later and it cost him more than he paid for his car). Great playing, as always.

Great playing Dave, really cool improvisation what guitar you pick up. The '62 Strat was the one that caught me, shades of Rory Gallagher in the sounds I reckon.
I like Dave's mastery of the guitar. He can pickup any kind and play any style effortlessly.

Firstly, thank you for all the vids you post. All are fantabulous and this one was equally as good... I'm a Stratocaster guy to the core, but there are a few Teles that I love and the 64 you played sounded amazing and the neck pickup was sweet & the 52 Gibson had a growl that makes me consider buying a Gibson, anyway cheers to another great video Mr. Dave, looking forward to the next one
You need encouragement to buy a Gibson? Awesome guitars. Get a vintage, go all in.
All I really want is a Gretsch Billy Duffy Signature White Falcon (but the price is insane unfortunately) and a Valiant Guitars Jupiter.

That first 63 Strat was awsome, I've never played an electric in 30odd yrs of playing, but I just picked up a cheap Aria stg strat I was gonna butcher up for parts for a CBG, but you've convinced me witht that 63 to clean it up and have a go, is anyone doing lessons on YT for that style you played first? search terms/suggestions would be really helpful! I've not got an amp, is that peddle/headphone thing gonna be cheaper than an amp? you mite have dragged me into the dark side lol

I liked the 63 & the 62 Strats 💕. The Firebird was awesome 🤩. I’ve never seen a 52 Les Paul that clean. Not my favorite guitar but in that condition it is a very special guitar 🎸. I hoped you would play the 59 Strat but maybe they sold it 😢. That’s my dream guitar. Great video. Thanks. 👍🏼☮️🌞🎸🎵

They all sound great Dave but I'd have to go with the 62 or 63 Strats , total dream guitars . The bound Tele was gorgeous as was the Jaguar as well .

Wow, some of those guitars, boy oh boy. If they were gravy I would be pouring them on thick. ATB know their stuff. I prefer ABC guitars though, it's were I got my My little pony guitar in vivid pink. That vintage plastic tone is hard to beat and would melt your face off. Talking of melting, don't leave near an open fire over night - or at all.

Usually have everything on 10. I do mess with the volume a bit though.

I used to have a '63 Strat, sold it in 1993 before they were insanely priced, believe me, there was nothing that set it apart from the Fender Strats and Squier Strats I own today, OK?
Put old strats on a plek machine a refret and set up to play well and they’re awesome.

Why the headphones ?
The shop is in a residental area so you can’t turn an amp up. I explain what i’m using in the video.
