As a collector I very much like the “Snowflake” since this is the watch which pretty much put Grand Seiko on the map. However IMHO all Grand Seiko watches look the same, just with different dials. Their bracelets are average too. I wish Grand Seiko gets some artistic inspiration for their case designs for example from brands like Vacheron Constantin, Cartier, etc. GS is moving upmarket and doing the same thing won’t excite many enthusiasts.
OG Snowflake for me. Prefer the sword hands and the markers over the newer style and the more timeless and elegant case curves over the box style. The only gripe is the rotor weight of the birch is far nicer.

I’d add the GS Winter to my collection because I think the design, dial color, and bracelet have more long term staying power in a collection, and price is more palatable.

My choice was the 415. I've been trying to source one for 2 years. My prayers were finally answered and the seasons collection is now available in the UK. I will going to London next month for collection.
For the price, I agree; I would go with the winter-better case shape than the snowflake. I don't feel as think on the wrist. I have tried them all, and the White Birch wins, but it is far more expensive. For me, if I am getting a GS. I am going with the SBGY007. The perfect GS dress watch. At least I feel that way.
I have a Rolex Submariner (40MM) which I love. Over time however I always thought I wish it wore a tad 'smaller'. Is the Snowflake similar in size to a Sub? I've read it is a bit on the chunky side. Ironically enough, this is why I'm interested in the GS SBGP001 Quartz simply because it's considerably thinner.
We do not carry Rolex and I've never had them side by side. I do think it's slightly thicker (not much) and roughly about the same case size from memory.

I think my choice would be the winter , although they're all beautiful.
The case shape on the winter wins it for me over the snowflake. I like the crystal exposed also, gives a vintage vibe.

Im picking up a snowflake on tuesday. Im so new to watches i didnt even know the white birch existed. But i still prefer the power reserve meter.

Update. I went today to pick it up. They were supposed to have it on hold. They sold it to somebody else. I have to wait another week 🤦🏻♂️
