I'm back years later, just wanted to say thanks again for these awesome videos. I lost a good portion of my collection when my 3DS was formatted. So I decided to rebuild it even better! Thanks to you, I was able to RNG a 31/29/31/31/31/31 shiny Latios in the Dreamyard!
@@imablisy How difficult would you say it is to RNG Cobalion in BW2? I've got a great seed but the Chatot pitches never seem to match. There's at least one moving NPC, but that should only affect the starting frame, right?
@@WadeVillines Idk if you still need help with that, but as far as I know the npc increase the frames constantly if they are moving, not just the starting frame, so you gotta be careful when you exit the start menu after hearing the chatots as the npcs can change it
FINALLY! After many failed attempts months ago in a route with moving npcs I tried again, but this time the easier way by encountering Volcarona with no npcs around. My problem was that I still hadn't figured out the right calibration. Excluding moving npcs means that no advances from them come in play, so I tested some calibrations and finally figured out the correct ones for my DS and my DSI. Another crucial part was the higher starting frame around 50. Maybe I always started from frame 1 or used an incorrect calibration, but I finally did it for W2 and got my Shiny Volcarona with all 31 iv except attack. Thank you very much! :)
Thanks a whole bunch, Blisy! It took a while (RNG Reporter doesn't display the right ability for nature preserve Haxorus), but I got the exact thing I wanted. Awesome!
I recently bought a Nintendo DS and got a copy of Pokémon Black in Japanese and wanted to try to catch a shiny Kyurem I followed your tutorials and after a while, I finally did it It's the first time I do this and it wasn't difficult, your tutorials were very helpful, thank you so much Blisy
i give up black 2.. pitches wrong no matter what. somehow have to do 2 extra every time to hit target nature. But shiny won't happen no matter what. Got shiny starter with rng with nature and everything. But this won't work for me. I'll just do rng in other games, this is killing me.
@TheMarland15 Yes, a friend of mine and I figured everything out on our own. Here's what we figured out.. The stuff that changes when you listen to Chattot is DIFFERENT, then the IVs determined by the timing you put in. Basically, you can get the same perfect pokemon with a different nature, etc... gender, nature, ability, and shininess are all determined by Chattot while IVs are not. So basically, when you've hit your seed and you know you have the IVs you want, you just gotta advance Chattot to ANY of the frames that it displays with the nature or gender or ability whatever that you want. Remember to account for synchronize.
I know it's 7+ years since this came out, but how do you press "down" on launch without it moving what you're selecting? The only good seed I'm getting involves holding "down" but it moves the cursor down to Pictochat. Great tutorials though! Going through the whole playlist to get some competitive shinies for Scarlet and Violet!
Maybe A then the Button Presses? Haven´t done it yet, but shouldn´t take that long to check, if it works. That being sad, you dont have to press A to start the game, the Touch screen could suffice for that problem.
I've been following the video exactly as you do and I keep getting the correct seed and shiny frame consistently but the iv's don't match up with what's on the time finder. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is the PID of the pokemon wrong? If so how do I fix this? I'm not using c gear at all when I press continue. I've tried different seeds and still can't get the right iv spread that I'm aiming for. I would very much appreciate some help on this situation please.
I found the problem the regular frame in rng reporter (time finder) has to be 1 or else the iv's won't match up if anybody comes across this same problem just have min frame to search 1 and max to search is 6 at most and just choose the one with regular frame being 1. The shiny frame might be higher but the iv's you enter will be accurate.
@@user-do9co7nd3c that I'm not sure of. I'm playing black 2 which might be the problem since he's playing black 1 which is supposed to be the easier ones the rng in. But if you're playing bw2 have the regular frame in time finder 1 for the pokemon's ivs that you want then do what he does in the video like chatot flips to advance to right before the shiny frame.
For anyone coming across this, BW2 uses two different types of rng for shinies and IVs. Using chatots will only advance your PID or shiny/nature frame. IV’s are a seperate rng, and chatots will not advance that frame.
You’re a savior my guy, I been thinking about this for a while I was so confused and couldn’t find anything on the subject. B/W2 is definitely more complicated My IVs weren’t matched up but I was getting the right nature and shiny Pokémon with awful stats lol you’re the 🐐 thank you so much 🙏
I’ve recently started gen v rng. So far, breeding has worked like a charm, but I’ve had no luck with wondercards or stationaries. The pitches of the chatters during frame advancement are usually right but the IVs are always wrong. As far as I know, there weren’t wandering NPCs. Any idea what could be skewing me?
Question: As soon as I hit 'Generate' in the Time Finder, the 'Required Lead' column disappears. Do you have any idea why this might be? Great video, as always. Maybe it is because the nature and ability are not determined by the Standard Seed Method?
Figured it out. Yes, the 'Required Lead' column is only used when generating shiny Pokemon. Otherwise, you have a 50% chance to get the nature you want if I'm not mistaken (using a synchronize lead).
Yo, I did the same thing you did for a Landorus in white, adament nature from synch, chatots and frames lined up, shiny, everything lined up except the IVs which were nowhere close to what I wanted. Any idea how this happened?
How can I increase my frame? My target frame is 3 (the frame is in 5th Generation Time Finder frame) but when I catch the pokemon, it always -2 frame IVs which is different from what I did. I mean chatot Pitch is correct but when I check Adjacent Seed Tool, It was always -2 frame from my frame. Time is also correct. So, I wanna know how to increase 2 frames.
hey blisy I'm having issues trying to manipulate a cobalion in white I done everything right on my kyurem attempt but cant seem to figure out whats going on here
Hey I know this video is really old, but I'm struggling to get this working. I've successfully RNG'd for shinys with this combo before, but then I put it in a 3DS to play through. Is the calibration still "set" if I put it back in the original DS for RNG or did I mess it up somehow?
Love the video, I used it to get all my favorite stationary legends. Over time I noticed that some became square shiny when transferring to sword and shield and I was wondering if there is any way to determine this beforehand? I have a whole box of shiny kyurems and none are square shiny while cobalion virizion and terrakion were square shiny in 2 attempts.
The way the game determines whether a Shiny is square/star type is by performing an operation called "exclusive or" (XOR for short) on the Pokémon's PID and original TID/SID. You'll need a programmer's calculator to do this yourself, but there are tons available online, and the default Windows calculator should also have a programmer mode. First, split the PID in half. Take each half and perform an XOR between them. Save the result, you'll need it later. Next, convert the Pokémon's original TID and SID to hexadecimal and perform an XOR between them. Again, save the result. Finally, perform another XOR between the results of the previous steps. If this XOR outputs a zero, the Pokémon is a square shiny. If the output is anything but a zero, it will be a star shiny. Conveniently, the program PokéFinder will automatically display the shiny type, but it doesn't support Gen 5 Wild or Stationary as of right now.
Just as an extra bit, ANY shiny with the Fateful Encounter tag will automatically be square, regardless of their PID. As Fateful Encounter is used for event Pokémon, the amount of shinies this applies to is fairly slim.
Open question for anyone willing to answer. If I'm going for a Shiny Cobalion and the only result I get in 5th Generation Time Finder is on the 444th frame and I start on frame 45, does that mean I'm supposed to flip back and forth on Chatot's summary hundreds of times?
Hey Blisy! I know this is a few years late but I'm having trouble! In my copy of Black I am trying to get a perfect Darmanitan, but for some reason my pitches just aren't lining up. I know my timing isnt off since I always nail it on my calibration and I tried multiplie times, I also made sure there was no moving trainers. Am I doing something wrong? I also noticed that when I paste my time finded seed into the main area, the frames don't match up. For example in the time finder it will say my 43rd frame is the one with the perfect darmanitan with the nature I want, yet in the main area the 43rd frame has a different nature.
I'm having the same problem. I'm in black, in front of a stationary pokemon, and my chatters never line up. I've tried multiple different seeds multiple times. I've made sure I calibrated correctly. I followed everything in this video exactly (except the shiny part because I don't want a shiny). And my chatot chatters still won't line up.
After having the same problem and looking around google, it seems that the developer addressed the issue in a github post github.com/Admiral-Fish/RNGReporter/issues/22. I updated to the latest version and everything works fine.
I figured it out. Here's how I got the chatot pitches to line up: 1. Follow all the instructions in this video 2. Try doing a few with the "roamer released" box checked, and if it doesn't work, do a few with the "roamer released" box unchecked. 3. Even if the chatot pitches seem like they don't line up at first, consider going doing the line of chatot pitches for a while. You may hear it start to kinda sound like it's lining up. This can get you back on track. I'm personally a mildly tone-deaf myself, so this helped me. 4. Make sure you bring a synchronizer with the nature you want. 5. When the chatot pitches finally line up, continue down the list until you get 1 frame before a frame with the correct nature you want that is also bolded. You might have to go kinda far down the list, but it's worth it. 6. Enjoy!
I thought I had this problem too, but it turns out I was using the wrong keypresses. For example, one encounter required me to hold down "Left" and I held down L (the left bumper instead of the direction arrow.) As soon as I realized my mistake I tried again holding the direction left and my chatot pitches lined up perfectly. Again, "Left" in RNG reporter is the direction key and "L" is the bumper. Hope this helped and good luck.
To answer your second question, I had that issue as well when going for a none shiny. Sometimes there are multiple frames with the nature you are going for. Try pasting a seed who's starting frame matches the nature of the pokemon you're going for. This also means you do zero chatot advances. Catch the pokemon and check its nature and then its stats using serebii stat calc. I did this going for perfect stat Zekrom in White and it worked first try.
Do you know what point I should be saving at for the Zen Mode Darmanitan in the desert? I've been consistently missing it, but I caught the musketeer trio as shinies without a problem.
