Nice to see you got most your baseboards set out now, I've just managed to get all my stuff packed up, swapped the two rooms around and started playing around with base panels and a few layout plans set out. Not sure if you have tried SCARM program for trying out some layout plans from scratch but it seams pretty good. My last video I lost all my sound for some reason so anyone that has viewed is probably like "what the hell". Never mind next one I will explain all that. One thing I have noticed is laying out a few pre planned tracks out for real has let me see whether they work in action or not. Good luck with your next steps and hopefully I will get my sound issue sorted out for next time.
Thanks Northeast, and good point about SCARM, just down loading it now, I had forgotten all about it as originally I only had my iMac and SCARM isn't available for mac, but now have a windows bases laptop so will give it a whirl. I have tried XTrackCAD as well, that was good as well but no 3D option. Look forward to seeing your next video. Mark
Nice vid, looks like you got alot of space to work with! :D where did you find the track plans? i'm going through a regeneration or plans at the moment :P what era do you plan to model? btw i subbed ;) Liam.
Hi Liam and thanks for the sub. Yea I’m really lucky to have that kind of space to play around with, but still wanting more, already looking at the garden ;). As for the track plans, sorry I can’t remember where I got them from, I think I just googled OO scale track plans and found them that way. And the era, good question there Liam, not really sure at the moment, I have loco’s spanning all eras and would like to run them all at some point, so will probably base it around the 60’s 70’s 80’s plus I grew up with loco’s at this time and remember them well. I’m not really worried about it being accurate to dates, just want a layout to run the trains on :) Cheers, Mark
Western Centurion Aha thats ok,the era i'm trying to model is the late 1950-160's with the diesel ttransition:P unfortunatley for me the most local branchline closed down in the 60's but there are plenty of heratige lines around :P Liam.
***** A good era as well, you'll get to capture some good diesels as well not to mention stem, like the 9F, awesome loco that was, still is with the Evening Star, which was built no more than a mile away from me :). Thank the lord for enthusiasts hey, without them we'd have nothing left from the past. Hop you post vids of your layout at some time :) Mark
Western Centurion yeah i've got my eye on a bachman class 45 from hattons :D im trying to focus my layout around the midland/western borders :D once i get a new DCC controller... silly dynamis is messing up.... i will put a vid up soon ;) Liam
***** Looking forward to seeing the video Liam, you got the track down already? and yes, class 45 is a good looker, remember them when I was a lad and hanging around our local station in Wootton Bassett, they would pull up waiting for the express passenger train to pass on its way to Swindon. Sometimes we'd get the chance to climb up in the cab, even got to walk down the gantry and see the diesel engine, now that was massive and noisy. You thought about the Hornby eLink for controlling the layout? I’m looking at getting one next year and will do review on it :) Mark
Hi Stewart, CannonFox asked me this a couple of months ago and I couldn't remember nor find the site again, but this morning, I found it first time, link below :) www.model-railways-live.co.uk/Layouts/ On the drop down list for 'gauge' just select OO and then the red search button, then select any of the layouts you like the look and sound of, I think one of the plans was the Botleigh North Old Shed. Enjoy, and welcome to the channel. Mark
More than welcome Stewart, can be a real mare trying to find something you really like and that suits the ideas in your mind. Mine keep changing all the time, god knows what I will actually create once the garage is finished and ready, one thing for sure though, is that I will recreate Wootton Bassett Junction. Good luck Stewart, hope to join you on your journey as well :0)
Hi, I don't have a z21, but bizarre you asked because I i just bought a Z21 on Thursday and waiting for it to arrive, but yes it should work fine with peco

You should have a second bus for points and lights and you do not need a big hole for points , just a slot for the pin to move back and forwards.
zardoz2 Now that is a really good idea for a second bus, I will do that with different coloured wires maybe, thank you for the great tip.
Cheers
Mark
can you operate your z21 and MULTIMAUS on piko track system
Hi, I don't have a z21, but bizarre you asked because I i just bought a Z21 on Thursday and waiting for it to arrive, but yes it should work fine with peco
Western Centurion i mean piko NOT peco
i've never heard of piko, did i mention that in this video or z21
most people from the USA will say wtf is a garige but me UK will say ahhh in your garage good
