SOLIDWORKS Mold Design Tutorial

In this instructional video, you'll explore SOLIDWORKS Mold Design tools/commands, which enable you to craft molds using a series of integrated tools governing the mold creation process. These tools facilitate the analysis and rectification of deficiencies in SOLIDWORKS or imported part models destined for molding.
The Mold tools encompass various stages, from initial analysis to generating the tooling split. This split yields a multibody part comprising distinct bodies for the molded part, core, cavity, and optionally, side cores. This consolidated multibody part file preserves your design intent conveniently in one location, ensuring that modifications to the molded part automatically propagate to the tooling bodies.
To further streamline your workflow, you can save each tooling body as a separate part document by right-clicking the body in Solid Bodies and selecting "Insert into New Part." Subsequently, integrate these new parts into an assembly, where you can incorporate additional hardware, establish mates, and more. These new parts maintain external references to the original model, ensuring that alterations to the molded part seamlessly update the tooling parts within the assembly.
Additionally, the Mold Tools toolbar offers supplementary tools integral to the mold process, including Scale, Move Face, as well as surface modeling utilities like Planar Surface and Knit Surface.
