Thank you Pat Duffy! I grew up watching you and now being 30 still skating! You influenced my style and our favorite band is the prodigy ! Thanks for being such a rad influence! Now I'm a skateboard manufacturer and I dont think I would have been in skating if it wasn't for you and watching your parts before going skating. I sound like a fanboy but thanks bro !
pat duffy can ride rails like no other. used to watch him work his magic in the sfc & santa rosa. super nice guy and humble as hell. last time I saw him we was at a Youth Brigade, One Man Army show at Slims; fun times. Cheers Pat. happy you are still riding.
In my opinion the Plan B "Questionable" video captured the beginning of what skateboarding is today. The tech, the switch, handrails and gaps. That video was a "wtf" moment.
It's funny when the spot is way more gnarly than the footage lets on. It goes both ways though. You can film stuff at certain angles etc. and it will make tricks look more interesting/harder.
As I was looking at my hats.. I saw my old trusty plan B.... Made me think of Duffy... I idolized my brother... He lived for you guys.. the VHS Plan B boot legged vids... He was 7 years older,, I wasn't allowed around.. Except comic relief... You know I broke the lock on his door and watched all his skate vids and legendary licence to ill beastie boys vid.. I was hooked.. Happy your name popped in my head.. I loved plan B.. You were a legend in Courtice, Ontario Canada 🍁.. Happy I stumbled into you... Make, More, vids dude... You're awesome 🤙🏻🇨🇦
I remember watching the Plan B video for the first time. First skate video I ever saw. It was 1993. Had just started skating. It was in that video I realized what was possible. I’d maybe seen a kick flip once before that. Game on.
love random people on the streets getting hyped. as skateboarders we sometimes take for granted or forget the magic of it all. Cool when people get exposed to it in the wild and have reactions like this.
1:04 The show he was talking about was MTV Scarred. There were 2 roller-bladers on his episode. One of which broke his spine and the other broke his ankle. It was not cool of Pat to insult them, knowing that one of them almost got paralyzed.
When he did Questionable, he was the best street skater alive (not just the big rails but also tech, ledges and flips)! Him and Henry Sanchez are too underrated!
I remember watching that part on mushrooms where the dude is like "that was great man I especially liked the flip part" and I lost my mind in hysterics it's soooo comedic. Then he says his vertical leap is 1 inch or whatever and I pissed my panta for real. It's still funny now.
it's so weird kids starting to skate bc they wanna go pro or be Rob dyrdek skate for fun first. I'm 28 and just picked skating back up almost two years ago and I have so much more fun ow. myself than when I was a kid
U can't generalize. people who start skating for street league and being pro is the same thing like all those soulless hair bands in the 80s who played music 'cause they wanted to be rich and famous. yeah. it was a popular thing and lots of kids were doing it, but not all kids who picked up guitars were starting hair bands. there was and is always little pockets of apathetic weirdos doing it for the right reasons.
Just wondering. You showed people in the friends section. Why didn't you show Ronnie Bertino in it. I forget, does he have an epically latered? He deserves one. I saw something just lately that said he is getting a guest board on John Drake's company - ANIMAL skateboards.
Yea before this nobody had really filmed a round handrail yet...would it work? Yup Duffy did it. The SF state rail is kinda hard. I remember we would just cut our pants with scissors to length.
you know...you know...you know...you know...you know...you know...you know...you know...you know...you know... all i got from this vid.. ( love duffy tho :D :D :D )
I was at the top of my game in96-97,before i busted both my knees, and got Artritis in more than one way-and i regret that i didn't get any of it on tape..,...Cause that was before there were cameras on Phones and such, and i really had a good grip on everything, and was getting Boards free and everything,so,you could say that it was,and is,a REAL DOWNER...)... X ;_(((
I can relate. We’re probably the same age because at that time I used to be pretty good at karate and do jumping spin kicks and all that stuff. Hurt my back (not too badly but enough to end my tournament dreams) Wish I had some of it on tape because I don’t even mention it to most people since I’m so out of shape now.
Yeah Bro-thats it..)..And now most people really dont understand how serious you can take that kind of Lifestyle/Sport when you're doing ut..so yeah, its a sad ting to Try to get over..🙃🕉️🙃
@@DFunct905 yeah,i have startes to find out that i can skate this cool miniramp-sk8boarding isnt something you just can quit doing..its in your conscioussness for life..)..
Had the chance to watch Plan B questionable at the release party , the whole place went wild when duffy's part was going on. crazy times.

That China Banks back T at the end is actually pretty gnarly. I've stacked so hard at that place.

I especially liked the flip of the board, BY THE WAY.

Duffy with the hype men at 7:50 nice to see skaters getting appreciated rather than yelled at.
love random people on the streets getting hyped. as skateboarders we sometimes take for granted or forget the magic of it all. Cool when people get exposed to it in the wild and have reactions like this.
The old plan b was so sick

Rollerbladers in general catch way too much hate.

Why’s Carroll allways sound burntttt.
Primus sucks
Guys got a bad attitude.
what is he talking about? Mike dead? Mike Carroll is still alive. So confused.
Daniel Harris he's talking about Mike Ternasky, one of the OG founders of Plan B. RIP.
