Lol. Southwest always has the funniest crew. Me and my cousin were going to Hartford and the flight attendant said, "be sure to buckle your seat belts in case of any emergency. Of course if that happened we wouldn't have come to work today." I was dying but my cousin didn't get it 😂
I am taking my first flight from Texas to California in a few weeks, and although I am very nervous, watching your video gave me a little bit of relief. I now know what it'll be like.
I flew on one of these new 737-8 on 1/9/18. The plane seats 175 and we had 21 onboard from BWI to TPA. There was definitely more leg room. Just like a new car, the plane had that "new plane smell" to it. I was able to step inside of the flight deck and the avionics are amazing. Everything is much more easily reachable by the pilots and the new seats are ergonomically built for comfort and less stress on the sacrum. The cabin's interior and lighting were also very impressive. I was hoping that Southwest would have had plugs for cell phones installed at the seats.
It seems that working as Flightcrew on Southwest Airlines is such a good working place that they are motivated to work everyday and to create a such nice experience for the passengers. Like that.
I love Southwest Airlines, one of the best in the U.S. i fly on it every year to visit my family in summer. I also love the free drinks and free snacks, Every year, i end up getting off the plane with like, 20 of the small snacks, i also love the little messages they put on the snack packets
Wonderful video. Some observations: I've taken off to Austin or San Antonio many times on SW. I love how you're already at 10,000 feet as you go over downtown Houston. The rate of climb is pretty steep. Liked that view of Austin. I spotted Austin's airport, downtown, and the F1 racetrack next to the airport.
The snack choices vary not only by length of flight but at time of day as well. I used to fly the leg between Denver and LaGuardia a lot. In the morning you get BelVita breakfast cookies and honey roasted peanuts. In the afternoon you can get a variety of things, including (But not limited to): Oreos, Fritos, and other Nabisco snacks. In the evening, you get Wheat thins and Honey roasted peanuts.
Last year I got to experience the new 737 800 heart interior it’s definitely nice those new air vents don’t blow a lot of air and it’s hard to get it to blow directly on you but I do love the new interior I’ll be flying southwest to go see my dad again in a couple of months in August I just wish they would have a direct flight from Jacksonville Florida straight to Kansas City mci hopefully they got that planned in the future
This is an absolutely amazing tripreport! Sad that you were not able to fly on the MAX, but this new interior still looks fantastic! Well done, thumbs up! :)
I got to fly on the max last year it was incredibly smooth you couldn’t even tell you were taking off I couldn’t even feel turbulence it was definitely nice Southwest Airlines hasn’t had any problems with any of their aircraft that stuff they hate on boing for isint really ther fault it boils down to how the airlines maintain their planes the problem that Alaska airlines had with the door wasn’t actually Boeings fault Alaska airlines knew the door was missing a few bolts they even admitted that but they still flew it airlines have to inspect every new aircraft they get so if it’s got bugs to work out they can send it back to the manufacturer to fix all the problems then only after the aircraft passes the inspection is when they are supposed to fly it so it has nothing to do with Boeing being a terrible manufacturer it’s airlines having poor maintenance Southwest Airlines takes great care of their aircraft that’s why they never have problems
Sorry about the MAX 8 failure. That must've been disappointing. Like they say, the new stuff isn't always the best. At least you got to fly the heart interior.
I just came back and watched this video again, I'm so glad you recorded it. I was lucky enough to fly in on the MAX 8, which I documented, but once it went mechanical for Flight #2, I put my camera back in the bag and just sat back and enjoyed this ride. I then flew right back to LAX in First on Delta's 175, which was a nice change.
It was a nice flight especially due to how empty the flight was. Sadly for me... since I missed my already right connection to San Diego, we ended up waiting 7 hours in SAT for the next flight to San Diego. But at least it was a rather interesting day
man, I did a flight on United 737, full loaded in a 5 hour flight. The engine sound frequency is identical to the video I recorded, including the thrust reduction. United have a fetish with low powered, long takeoff...
+Nervous Traveler the card also says 737-800, southwest made one copy for both aircraft. And a newer version of the. Card says 737-700 737-800 and 737MAX
Southwest is my favorite domestic carrier, I flown on them a couple dozen times. They always do a polished, professional job at a pretty reasonable price. I assume Houston to San Antonio is about a 1 hour flight?
Count your blessings with the history of the new -800 and them having to take your plane away and put you on another who knows they might have just saved your life. A couple weeks ago I did have the chance to fly on a -700 and I enjoyed the new seating even though I am far from a lover of Southwest. What was nice though for some reason from LAX to SAC I got onto a Southwest that he NEW leather seats Which I did not know that they used but the 90 minuet flight was wonderful with the smell of fresh leather. The only thing I could think of was they plane might not have started as a Southwest but because of all the grounding of the -800 they borrowed this plane and just changed the livery. There was nothing inside to indicate it was Southwest even the seat/emergency card were plain with no logos
I don't understand why so many posters still insist on pointing their camera at the engine and wing. With all the beautiful scenery outside they insist on you having to look at this boring shot.
Sorry man, I guess it’s more of a personal choice, also to reduce shakiness. Should I ever get a second camera or a working suction cup then I’d be more than glad to get better videos of local scenery
Clark McKee they are not removing it on any 700s. But they are covering it up: The new Heart seat will only be available on new aircraft deliveries. Existing aircraft will only receive new Bold-Blue seat covers.
They are taking the tan leather seat cover off and putting all blues ones on. Here's an example - they have already started this process: i.imgur.com/E0YIsP9.jpg
it's easier (and cheaper) for airlines with those adds for ipads and smartphones via wifi. i think the television screens are something from the past (except for long flights). It's like the food and snacks. Nobody is there for the food, if you want them, you can pay or buy it somewhere in advance.
@@Gustyrd1 Past time of how long? The first flight I took that had these screens was in, 2009, Allegiant airlines. I hadn't been on any flight since, 1986.
I had the displeasure of experiencing these seats a few months ago. While it looks nice and the amount of legroom is good, it felt like sitting on a slab of plywood. Anything more than an hour is torture…I’ll stick to the 700 series…at least this way odds are a little better of having the Evolve interior.
Es gracioso porque te toco volar en el a320 NEO porque se descompuso el a320 normal y ahora fue lo contrario se descompone el 737 MAX y te toca volar en un 737 normal
You have to book a flight on the 737-800, the 700's don't have them (They use a newer Evolve interior with all blue seats). Then you need to get Flight Radar 24 a few days before your flight to see the details of the plane you are on. If it's a newer like 3-4 year old plane, then you should be good.
I have a whole video on it, but to sum it all up, 1 hour delay due to maintnecw, we pushed back, taxied to the runway, issue came back, we returned to the gate, spent another hour, door was closed again, we prepared for pushback, 10 minutes later, door was opened again. And about 40 minutes later the captain decided the aircraft should be put out of service.
Be happy the aircraft wasn't the MAX, the Boeing 737-Max 8 was a terrible aircraft. It would sometimes go into an uncontrollable nose-dive. This incident did happen. I don't know if Boeing fixed it or not, but I would hate to be on a Max 8.
It isn't, just that the safety card says 737-700 since southwest uses a single version for all the aircraft, the safety card also says 737-800 and 737MAX
