HOW do you know McCarthy will be there at eleven anymore than you know the winning PowerBall number? You don't. If you want to gamble...fine. If you lose, don't whine about it. I hear the NY Giants are looking to move up just like the Vikings. So trading up could be dicey if the Giants want the same QB we want. So the Vikings are smart to go into the Draft with multiple Plans. And I see no problem with the Vikings just staying put at #11 and #23 and getting their QB that way. The Patriots are gonna talk BIG now about a Trade. They start high, the Vikings start low you meet in the middle.

    idk if its just the rush of the vikings trading up into the top 5 for the first time. Which is still pretty fun.
    For me, its wanting to see this new staff put their plan in motion for one of the most, if not the most, important (and most expensive) position in football. We've seen this staff test drive and move on from an older expensive QB in their first couple years, along with other position groups. So to now be contemplating a scenario where they, like Judd mentioned, go all the way in the deep end, to go up and get their guy at #2 or #3 like Kwesi and KO are all out of bubble gum would be the first massive step in what could be, good or bad, an entertaining next few years.
    It's like your at your friend's family cabin and you've climbed up the tree higher than anyone else with the sketchy rope swing that has been up since before they took lead out of everything, grabbed that crusty old rope as hard as you can, and finally pushed off from the tree. Where you fall, who knows, but everyone knows, once you push off, its way better to leg go of the rope at some point.

    I have a feeling the Vikings are going to draft 2 defensive players in the 1st round with their picks. Depending on who they want they may even trade down multiple times in order to accumulate more draft capital possible getting a 2nd and 3rd round picks. Their big move might be trading back into the 1st round by using their 2025 1st & 3rd round picks so they can draft a QB late in the first round. The sleeper pick might possible be Bo Nix, so they can get the 5 year option. If they truly want Maye or McCarthy I think Kwesi might be signaling to the fans that they might be on the verge of trading 3 or possible 4 1st round picks in order to get their guy. But hearing Kwesi talk about loving several players I think he might be looking at what I said in the beginning.

  • @johnpreston3706
    @johnpreston3706 Месяц назад +1

    There is no problem here! Kwesi puts KOC in power to rank draft top QBs & analyze their fit for the “KOC offense” They communicate 24/7 with each other. Kwesi & KOC then analyze team slots & draft capital for trade up & trade back deals they believe (Kwesi) is best use of draft capital. There is no dysfunction here. Right?

    As a fan of this channel I have to address some bias that I am seen when it comes to how you all cover the team because your voices carry weight. If some has went wrong with the team it is Kwesi fault and if something went right it is KOC. You even keep trying to spread the idea the Kwesi and KOC are on the same level but correct me if I'm wrong but Kwesi hired KOC and Kwesi is the GM so there is no question who makes the call in my mind. If it was up to KOC he would not have to go over to Kwesi and convince him to take Addison. They work together but don't get it confused Kwesi is in charge. But now the thing I have a big problem with and I argued with fans on this page about. When Addison got in trouble for speeding because he had a animal emergency the 3 of you and the fans killed him for it. He wasn't under any influence he was rushing to take his pet somewhere but people were talking about how he could have killed someone and compared him to Henry Ruggs. Now our OC got a DWI and no one is killing him and you all are just making jokes about it. Making it light hearted

    The comment read on the show from Dan got it right. Kwesi went hard to move up for Richardson last year. He is not JUST a trade back add picks guy but it's job to entertain those ideas. ANY way to improve the roster should be explored. We keep talking about moving up for a QB. The bust rate on the QBs you want to spend 2 picks on is WORSE than the S and CB at the spot we got then. So they didn't pan out. You take the best shots you can and live with the results. Curry doesn't make every 3 but he's dang sure taking them given a chance. Don't get shy either way now. Evaluate, maneuver as best you can for the guys you like most, and do it. If you think Penix is .1% worse than Maye, JJ, and Daniels but they are all same tier and you can put 2 more 1sts on the roster with him this and next years vs trading them to move up for Maye, then you wait on Penix. I mean the guys comp is Tua just larger and more atheltic. Would we trade a 1st for Tua right now?

    The job of O’Connell and Kwesi is to make the “coin flip” analogy true for others and not true for the Vikings. They need to properly vet the players they pick yes, but they can always make a mistake. Where they can’t make a mistake is in maximizing potential of the players that are selected. If they really believe they have the system, they should be willing to see how the draft plays out and pick where they are comfortable. To me it seems they don’t intend to put the 2025 first round in the mix and lean on their system if it isn’t enough.

    Pick 11 is a very big swing on a player. The 42% success rate on QBs in the first 3 rounds must have a very low threshold for success. Most analysis I see has success on first round QBs at no more than 20%.

    • @purplepainforums
      @purplepainforums Месяц назад

      Depends on what you consider a "success". In my own analysis, only 27 (29%) of the 93 first round QB's since 1961 went on to pass for more than 20k yards in their career, and 29 (31%) threw for more than 150 TD's. BUT! Those are much higher rates than QB's chosen in any other round. AND that doesn't include any of the QB's chosen in recent years obviously, so TBD on the final results because now it's a lot easier to reach the 20k and 150 TD thresholds.

    I think it's fine right now to pay JJ! PPL are too caught up in the money... but the Vikings situation right now is in a good position as they don't have a top $ QB to pay. Yes, it would be good to be spread around, but Vikings need pieces from the draft more than going after a high priced FA/trade.

    The QB bust rate is higher than all others in rounds 1 and 2. This is BECAUSE the position is so important that it's WORTH taking additional risk.

    Regarding the rattler and penix discussion. I am fine with us picking them up... But picking them early without an understanding of where they wouldve fallen would be a terrible decision... Because you could get them later in the draft.
    Clearly Kwesi doesnt play that game, so i dont think that will happen

    The vikings wanted anthony richardson last year because they wanted an ultra athletic qb that can overcome pressure.
    The vikings are most likely targeting Jayden Daniels.

    • @intrepidfool
      @intrepidfool Месяц назад

      My understanding is they tried really hard to get Stroud. (Some media mistakenly reported Young but that made no sense for KOC scheme and preferences.) Vikings also inquired about trading up for Richardson, but my understanding is that it was for a lesser offer commensurate with the value of the draft position and their perception of the prospect.
      They likely have some similar internal cutoffs with the various prospects this year based on internal ranking and draft trade position needed. (Of course, they are probably willing to spend more this year since they do not have a starting caliber QB on the roster just a fringe/reclamation project.

      But then they traded for a QB mid season who's pretty good at avoiding pressure and they never took advantage of it. Instead they tried to turn him into Kirk Cousins. I laugh at the rumors they wanted Richardson. He would've busted hard under KOC and his one page playbook.

    The Vikings played better when Jefferson was out hurt because they were not trying to focus on getting the ball to him to keep him happy.
    They used everyone on the team and called the best play for the situation. When Jefferson is in the game they force balls his direction even when its not the best play.
    This guy and his contract will be the dimise of this team.

    The Vikings are planning to change their uniform, they should change the Gold in the uniform to the Gold that New Orleans and San Francisco use, when the Rams changed theirs in 1999 they won their first Super Bowl. With the Vikings White uniform they should use that San Francisco color Gold Pants with white and purple stripes.

    Valid point with kirk vs JJ comparison but Kurt was getting paid top 5 qb money being 10th at best and JJ is arguably the best wr in the league. You pay for what you get unfortunately with JJ its understandable.

    • @purplepainforums
      @purplepainforums Месяц назад +2

      I see what you're trying to say, but that's faulty logic. You also must take into consideration the importance of the position, and unfortunately the WR position just doesn't move the needle where it matters, unlike the QB position. We went 1-8 with the worlds best WR in the lineup, and 5-2 without him. We're only 30-30 overall with him in 4 years with only one playoff appearance. A playoff game where he was pretty much a nonfactor. Only 2 of the top 25 highest paid WR's helped their team get to the divisional round this year (Deebo and OBJ) but neither were contributing factors. Can you even remember the last time a WR was the entire difference in a playoff game or was the reason a team went on a playoff run? Doesn't happen, so it's silly to pay a WR like a QB, not even the best WR ever. Especially if you could swap him for some valuable draft capital. Plus the Vikings have never had trouble finding good to great WR's. In general they're not as difficult to find as QB's. You don't need the best WR's to succeed as a team, you only need decent.

    Speaking of tipping. Don't. It's an exploitative practice employed by restaurants and other businesses as a means of avoiding paying their workers a living wage, and its history is deeply rooted in racism and exploitation.
    The rest of the world looks at tipping as either being deeply offensive, or as something you do only for exceptional service which goes above and beyond what is expected, and is on top of a worker's already reasonable wages.
    There are three approaches to dismantling the American culture of tipping:
    1. We legislate it away
    2. Tipped employees strike for real wages
    3. Enough customers stop tipping that it drives tipped employees to strike for real wages, or drives them out of those positions thereby necessitating businesses to abandon that model in favor of paying employees a living wage in order to even have employees to begin with
    As the customers, we can advocate for legislation while refusing to tip. That is, we can push for #1, while doing #3. And we can tell our friends and family who work tipped jobs to do all three.
