I just bought a v8 vy calais with 140k on the clock and I'm storing it in my shed for 10 years as a weekend driver. Reckon it will go up $1,000 a year in value and club permits are only $320, so nice fun investment car.
G'day from Bundaberg Qld 🍹 im about to start front & rear suspension on my 2004 VY Holden Calais , Exact same colour as your Calais 👍 Big job ahead of me & mate but we love working on our cars & havin a drink & BBQ during & after weekend tinkering on the cars ! Ive just found your channel & like your videos & luv the Calais matey 👍 Cheers from bundy 😝🕺
Good video boys, Currently in the process of restoring my VY calais s2. Been off the road for 3.5 years and is now my daily driver! Would love to make some videos but no idea where to start. Built the whole thing myself, Converted manual with a t56, 408ci stroker and previously had a 100 shot on it.
Just wondering what Shaun replaced to stop the squeaking at 2:32 as my vy Calais s2 l67 does the same and i cant seem to figure out what it is and its driving me insane even my mates cant figure it out
Wasted spark coils don't have enough power to make the spark jump the gap under a lot of compression. when you squeeze the molecules under the compression stroke the spark has to jump through all of that matter to the other electrode to ignite the air/fuel. Having a smaller gap helps the spark make that jump. The trade off is it will reduce your ignition area reducing your fuel efficiency as not all the fuel will burn in the combustion chamber. At least there will not be a miss anymore. I'll do up a detailed explanation in a video about these questions.
