I'm pujabi and thought what's going on! Most songs are punjabi and that's not fair! Was going to start calling it coke studio punjab, but in all honesty despite the punjabi songs they are creating masterpieces, but it would be good to have some Urdu songs to have a good balance! Just saying!! This is an amazing song, truly mesmerising
I am not Punjabi, but I love Punjabi songs, half of Pakistan is Punjabi. We need to love and promote Punjabi as they do on the other side of the border. Not sure why our Punjabis want their kids to speak Urdu.
@@pappu33 I don't think you understand the point that was being made. Your patronising tone shows that you are not even making the effort to understand it. First of all, please let go of this archaic linguistic supremacy. The idea that your or any language alone is beautiful and its native speakers should never learn to speak other local languages of their country/region stems from narrow minded ignorance. I am part Punjabi and I really like Punjabi as a language. It's such a sweet language. However, just because I like or love something does not mean I should ignore reality. Punjabi is overrepresented in Pakistani music and art. That's a fact. Your ignoring it won't change it. If another language was being overrepresented, I would have said the same. There are more Punjabi songs released almost every year in Pakistan than in any other language. The excuse that many offer about Punjabis being the largest demographic is not a justification for this. This country belongs just as much to its minorities as to its majority. They deserve to hear their languages included on our platforms. Also if population is the real reason then why isn't every other song in Pashto because it's the second largest demographic of Pakistan? Most Punjabis don't have such a narrow mind where they feel threatened by other languages. I am glad that we're open minded. The fact that you just said 'I just don't understand why our Punjabis want their kids to speak Urdu' as if Urdu is inferior as a language while you people have no issues teaching your children English shows that you have a personal bias against other local languages of this country based on a misplaced notions of superiority. For me, all languages of this country are beautiful. Speaking multiple languages is a valuable thing. If you actually care about Punjabi language, make an effort to have it included as an optional subject in our schools so those who want to learn it are able to do so but the overrepresentation of any one language at the cost of dozens is unfair. Only narrow minded people who think of their mother tongue as superior to every other language on earth get personally offended by hearing their own people speak other languages as well. No language is a personal achievement that you can weild over people's heads and tell them to shun every other. Kindly don't extend this parochial mindset to all Punjabis.
I loveeee the Punjabi songs and I am not even Punjabi! Good work is good work does not matter in which language it is so I suggest you enjoy the songs instead of criticising to make a point that's not relevant
