Needless to say, this was a big record here in OKC back in 1963 on our local top 40 radio station's weekly survey. Ron Petty was the lead singer and the group also had an instrumental the same year, BAIL OUT, on Sims Records. While listening to this, it reminded me of Preston Epp's 1959 tune BONGO ROCK. Good Post. Larry N. Boyington, aka Larry Neal, former curator of the Wax Museum on the big 1520 KOMA

Banging them bongos
All thumbs up...!!!
'Bongo Beating Beatnik' is a similar Bongo tune but with a Sleazier groove...by Joe Hall and the Corvettes....
Before the label got with Joe Tex and an unknown rock group called The Allman Joys (Allman Brothers).
Sounds like Lloyd Broom Jr. on bongos, but it could be Shirley Jenkins. Does anyone know? It definitely isn't anyone named Joe.
the bongo player's name is Ron Kuykendall ''uncle ronnie''
killer!
