@Janet Hispanic is a term used for Spaniards in Europe. Latinos is the term used for people who come from Latin America (ie Chile, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Aruba, Honduras, Cuba, Argentina, Ecuador)

@John Yes but their nationality is what identifies them as Latino. You don't see Americans refer themselves as french, or british because some of their descendants are from there? You refer to them as Americans. Same way you don't refer a Mexican as a Spaniard. You don't refer to them as Spaniard, you refer to them as Mexican. Just because they were colonized does not mean that's what they are.
