Just want to say I've really appreciated your match previews this season. You go into far more tactical depth than most channels, meaning I come away having actually learned something about our opposition.

Brighton away is almost the perfect dress rehearsal for the FA Cup final against City. The result against them isn’t vital, just how we play against a team with a high tempo possession style who are going to move us around.

Agree with giving Rashford a go. Didn't see Johnny train, but Lindelof and Varane did. Could see Varane and Martinez have their last game together. Might be worth resting a full back, maybe Lindelöf gets a chance.

I’d probably start rashford in the final. Then bring on garnacho early. Look at the game last season. Came on and looked like a game changer for us. Don’t think Marcus has that impact in him

With all the “praise” about how deZerbi set up play for Brighton they are 10 th in the table with 48 points and -5 GD and United in 8th with -3 GD and its a poor season for united fraught with injuries. And deZerbi is one of the managers supposedly targetted to replace Ten Hag.

I haven't heard anyone mention Rashfords slowing down every counter attack. It's like his best trait, speed, is no longer working for him. When has he actually got behind defence or overrun the opposition? he always receives ball before defense line and takes defenders on and loses 90% of the time, unless he's got lucky deflection. Garnacho is more successful, although the decisions are sometimes shocking. Despite his inexperience, at least he's got the balls to do something whether to pass, cross or shoot. With Rashford you know he's gonna slow down and cuts inside and lose the ball or pass it wide. People are right to criticise him when he's playing on Antony level. I Don't make excuses for experienced, unmotivated and overpaid players.

I've said it many times for those of us that are old enough to remember the 80s. This is what we did. I recall the last game of the old first division before the final against Everton. Lost 5-1 to Luton. Beat Everton in final who were winning everything. We ended up 10th that year 1985 big Ron got the bullet

We are better off resting Garnacho for the FA cup final.
United are better off not being in Europe next year with our injury record it smart thinking to concentrate on League Carabu and FA cup.
Getting the same frontline player's out on the pitch to form great combinations who understand each other.
Rather than burning through player's struggling get the frontline player's on the pitch.

I would like to see Garnacho go back to the bench, not just for this game but also for the final, because as poor as Rashford has been this year, Garnacho's passing, crossing and decision making has been worse than Rashford's in recent months, I always think Garnacho has more impact off the bench where he often seems to change the game

Everyone now know he won't pass to just crowd him out and you have the ball.......... I don't know if we are watching the same game but I think janacho is still slightly better just slightly but that can pass because he's still you.

In a way, the fates are trying to help UTD: the final 3 games are good lesson opportunities to prep for the Final. On winning or losing this one, do UTD care that much? The Europa League/Conference would probably just burden the 24-25 squad but maybe they would take it for any ££ to be gained from starting the campaigns.
Brighton, being so good on the ball, building & pressing, following the Arsenal & Newcastle (different) challenges present great learning possibilities for City. Esp Brighton are like a not-quite-City...
I wonder if the false 9 would be best, to keep midfield solid in order to survive the super split-passing of the home team. Brighton will look to make a statement, not only to get the double but send the manager off with a bang - who knows where 😉 (I wouldn't mind, though I think it unlikely, even if UTD are thrashed at Wembley).
Then UTD get the CF on for the second 45 and go into more positive attack mode, almost gung ho to sharpen the cutting edge upfront. Why not?
All fit players should get a chance to audition in this one, but important to AVOID INJURIES. Can see Kambwala featuring - might need him in the Final. Evans, Amrabat and (I realise I must accept an upgrade is required) Wan Bissaka are probably gone next year, so 1-2 games to show their market value!

  • @DoninSpain49

Fight for every ball. Defend and attack as a team. You cant do that when you tell them some games arent important. We’re 8th because we deserve to be; if we wanna finish higher up, we have to play better as a team. We’re not too good for 8th/Europa Conference; we are where we deserve to be. @@lucasvanwijngaarden670It's embarrassing that after 8 years we still waiting to see if rasford gonna come good.

@@DaveElcock I wouldn't say we're wondering if he can be good enough. We know he can, but we also know how inconsistent his form is.

@@lucasvanwijngaarden670 you just did it again, rashford got a permanent question mark over his head, the guy averages 8 goals per season and walks about the pitch fixing his shorts, and now we have Garnacho following the same path, getting way overhyped based on moments, so they become glory hunters with low football iq, that's why neither of them will ever be consistent.

@@DaveElcock That's just factually incorrect, he averages almost 10 goals per season in the league and a little over 15 goals per season in all competitions.
Those are good stats, but his inconsistency is a problem.
I'm not suggesting he's a player we should build around, but for the time being Garnacho is our only other LW option and I don't think he's that much better.
