I can imagine for Americans, hearing Mike skinner talk/rap could be like “wtf is this” but this was in such a prime era of UK rap. The streets are pioneers in the UK, they pretty much brought a whole generation of British teens up. Thanks for doing this album 😊

I hope you see this. There is another album like this. It's called 'a breath of fresh attire' by The Mitchell Brothers. I think Leo the Lion is also in it who is Mike's backing vocals. First time watching you guys, definitely subscribing. I grew up to the Dizzee Rascal album on the wall
LOVE the streets! Original pirate material might be my favourite though followed by everything is borrowed 😊 absolute staple of the UK music scene these guys 👍🏼 nice one for reviewing 😊
I was in my early 20s when this album came out. You probably have to be from England to truly relate to it, and probably more so the album before, original pirate material. When I listen to them it is just me and my mates from those times. Fucking love it.
I was in my teens when it came out but could see older guys around me living this life with weed, pub, lads holiday, bookies and birds.. such a masterpiece, I can picture the scene in every song
Social commentary at its finest. This and original pirate material have been favorites since my teens whej it first cane out. So relatable to so many if us.

If you want a real look at what mid 2000’s British culture was like, watch the fat boy slim big beach boutique documentary. It was an absolutely phenomenal free beach party that was only supposed to have a couple of thousand people but ended up shutting down Brighton. Literally the police shut the town down, you couldn’t get in or out, the police had to escort people up the m23 motorway to Gatwick airport because the roads were just solid with people trying to get to the party for over 30 miles away. 😮Over 50,000 people with some estimates going up to 100,000. Yet not a single arrest or any trouble at all. Just a proper good rave.

The way I hear this Album Mike, Dan and Scott live together, Mike needs to get his money out to pay for his Holiday. Mike met Simone because she works in the Sports Shop with Dan. In Blinded by the Lights we get the 1st hint of something else between Simone and Dan, Rizla is the brand of Wrapping papers for what they're smoking As he is just chilling with her. In get out of my house Simone is hungover feeling sorry for herself and annoyed Mike didn't check on her. In Fit but you know it, Mike is off on a Lads Holliday and he pulls the girl which then leads into his guilt on the way back from Holiday in such Tw*t, Then Mike thinks Scott is acting guilty, He then Spots a coat he recognises from Simone's house and thinks Scott is the one who brought it here so Scott eventually tells him it was Dan. Then we get into the break up Simone breaks up with Mike and Mike begs for her to change her mind. Mike goes on a drinking binge until Scott tries to fix his TV whilst explaining he didn't want to get in the middle of things between Mike and Dan that's when find the missing money which lightens Mike's mood enough that he socialises and meets Allison and suddenly Allison makes him realise there is life after Simone.
