This video makes it look easy, but it's a lot more involved; especially the part where you need to install the bracket. If you're unsure, best to remove the headliner and look underneath it.
How about splicing the overhead monitor power / ground wires to the radio's constant, accessory, and ground wires. Then splice the wires from the monitors dome light to the cars dome light wire?
Can I install this at the from of my car? i measured and it would fit between the visors. I obviously wont use it while driving but I would like my front passenger to see.
hey bro I have a 15" i put in a lincoln towncar.. it shows good with the engine off but once I crank the car up the flipdown gets alot of distortion. we tried moving the ground and power wires to diff locations and still the same thing.. do you think it could be the rca's? what would you recommend trying? thanks for your time
I have a 98 Dodge Durango and would like to install a flip down monitor/DVD. By any chance you guys can do an install video in a 98 Dodge Durango? I would really appreciated, I'm an electrician by trade so I know how to handle a DIY project and can handle tools with no probs as well as reading schematics, but I have never done this before, so I am asking for help. Great vids btw.
Man, even though I can do all that work, I rather have someone do it for me. But cutting out the headliner scares me because one wrong cut and it will look so ugly. Power stuff is easy but I just think that it should be done by guys who does it everyday like 10 cars or more at a time. Now, I would make sure that the power cable is soldered and heat shrinked, not crimp tubed. And I do not like using electrical tape where I can avoid it.
You don't have to, you just run the risk of electrocuting yourself or frying your electronics when you connect the ground. I like to think of it as an unnecessary safety precaution, but you can indeed fry your electronics so probably a good idea to disconnect the negative terminal from the battery before starting.
Fantastyczna robota. Gratuluję.

How do you determine where the roof beam is where the headliner needs to be cut? That's my biggest worry as I have a sunroof also.

Can you not just make a direct connection from the battery and fit a toggle switch to roof cloth beside the monitor?

HI, have you got Installation guide for the Citroen C4 picasso but not Grand picasso, please
@jongotti2001 Because they are not designed for that extra load. The only proper way to do it is run a new line to the battery protected with a fuse.
Is this adaptor compatible with the 2009/14 Scenic 3?
just installed a 7" flip down and a ps2 in my car its really simple just a faf with the headliner but it helped

Why do some car manufacturers make it so insanely complicated to get to the fuse box?

You forgot to tell people to unplug your battery before starting.
