You've got it here. brilliant way to teach. No talking, and the chords are all laid out, this should be a good example for others teaching songs on youtube. thank you. and plan to fund you...
I remember the first time my dad played me this song as a kid. I was totally memerised and lost in the imagery. I was a cosmology buff at the time and still am. This is why this song was so imprinted on my mind. Its so beautiful and that melody. ''Pools of sorrow-waves of joy'' God damn.
Words are flowing out Like endless rain into a paper cup They slither while they pass They slip away across the universe Pools of sorrow waves of joy Are drifting through my open mind Possessing and caressing me Jai Guru Deva, om Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Images of broken light Which dance before me like a million eyes They call me on and on across the universe Thoughts meander like a restless wind Inside a letter box They tumble blindly as they make their way Across the universe Jai Guru Deva, om Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Sounds of laughter shades of earth Are ringing through my open views Inciting and inviting me Limitless undying love Which shines around me like a million suns It calls me on and on across the universe Jai Guru Deva, om Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Jai Guru Deva Jai Guru Deva Jai Guru Deva
Alan; sometimes its the simple things in life that stump us the most. So many site mention that "they" (Beatles) sped up the songs, changed key's, tuned up, down or inside out and here in one simple video you did shows how easy it was for John to simply throw a capo on the first fret and play it in C; dah! I love, love, love this song. Thanks. George
I play with a "non-giging" group of 4-5 people now playing all the later Beatles stuff after having performed in many tribute bands over the years and now that I'm in the midst of their later stuff, it's like being born again musically, as far as the Beatles. Yes, John was a genius; as was George as well as Sir Paul. But yes, there was something very heavy about John that gets lost in his whimsical lyrics and tongue and cheek Brit humor. He was definitely a thinker and philosopher set to poetry and melodies. Keep the torch burning mate....
George Stamm; It was the acid; the LSD. It is a wonderful trip! John was great, no doubt about that. But the lyrics? Straight out of an acid trip. Been there; done that.
I had to refresh my skill on this one and one more trip to Mr. Robinson's neighborhood is all it took. Simply the best! i sure wish the hundreds of other turkeys out there would catch a little of this cat's act and maybe they'd understand something so simple... It's about the song, pal, not about you. God bless, Alan. You are bringing joy to so many.
Very nice lesson. I'm trying to do a finger style interpretation of across the universe. Most lessons are 20 minutes with the teacher talking half the time. Thank you Alan. Very nice arrangement and really nice vocal. Great tune. One for the ages. PEACE
Man I'm learning so much from you! Your interpretations are awesome and I love how you have it all laid out on the screen with chord diagrams and strum patterns. Superbly done. Thank you!
Gracias Alan aprendo mucho contigo a pesar de no hablar inglés, pero tu método es excelente, con las posturas a la vista . Me gustan las de los Beatles. Si pudieras poner la letra sería ideal. Felicitaciones! !!!!!
Thanks again, the way instruction should be! No blabbing to start, you play the beginning melody, then show the chords that will be used, and then actually play it in the proper key (1st capo), and once again no blabbing while you start. Perfection! thanks!
@@guitartutorman - still hearing nuances with this and I tried a Dm7 instead of a Dm, man that Lennon was a genius. He even throws in a Asus with his Am. Almost like he was trying to fool us. hehehehe
thanks man finally a version i think my fingers will be able to do. You have a great voice. You know this one and i`m only sleeping i have a picture in my head of John lying in bed with a joint watching tv, then picking up his guitar and writes the song and then turns on the tv and lights his joint again lol
Thank-U I may be able to play this one... With Lots of practice...It's been a Lonnnggg while. Haa-haa How I MISS the 70's when everyone who owned a guitar new how to play one or two....Okay Three! Beatles Songs... and The Beauty of it all is that No mater which One....... We All New the Words to them. I still,to this day have my 15th Birthday Gift (guitar) after All these $#*$ Years...LOL TFS :O)
