Max deserves a medal for trying too save people, unlike Alya who enjoys denying people medical assistance, and watching them die.
In a way Max feels like he's let David down hugely and his late mum Kylie too. I see some of Kylie's goodness in Max and in Lily too and I think David does too. Max Turner is feeling remorseful for everything he's done and prison time gives Max heaps of time to change his ways into good ways. Something Kylie would have been proud of.

Plus there’s a difference between the vegetarian option and the “veggie” (short for ‘vegetable-infused,’ not vegetarian per-se). The latter being the one that Max said he normally goes for. Either way ordinary mozzarella is allowed.
Hopefully this will be the turning point for Max, great young actor and it’s lovely to see the family bonding x
