Yes there is a non profit called Dog and Cat Rescue Samui that does de-sexing for many animals on the island. However it’s an ongoing issue trying to locate all the dogs and it’s not free of change for de-sexing for all.
Hi Aaron, it’s Rod and Jewells from the video here. 99.5% of the pier dogs are already desexed and we make it a priority to get any recently dumped dog desexed straightaway (or as soon as they’re old enough). The new mum and her puppies in Flora and Notes vlog were dumped only a week or so before the vid was taken. Please rest assured, when she’s finally stopped feeding them we’ll get her fixed up really soon, then the puppies when they’re ready in several months time. Thank you 🙏

Now, stuff like FrontLine exists, where I believe it sterilizes the fleas so that they themselves cannot reproduce. I am not sure if it is expensive, but is there any better defense than just the flea powder you use? Just wondering. I know you are doing all you can with what you have. I wonder if various pet sanctuaries or vets could be reached to find out? Anyway, thank you again! I'll certainly look to help once I (hopefully) move to Thailand myself!

Sigh...very very sad and pitiful to see and hear these stories of owners abandoning their dogs... It took a lot of effort, money and time to take care of these loving and aging dogs. If only there are more people who are willing to adopt and give these poor souls a better life and loving home. And stay committed to give them the best till the last day. Dogs are one's best friends and companions to have. Sometimes, I feel that life with dogs are so much simple and having more joys than living with humans. I missed my 2 late Malteses...

Ok, I now know what I need to do when I come to Thailand in May, I am retiring and I love animals and had an unofficial Cat and Dog home, I was restricted on how many I could house myself as I was in town, I looked after 4 dog and 4 cats.. on a normal house block.. they all got on great.. I will make it a goal to get over there and help out, I am a little bit mobility restricted but I can definitely help food and medicine wise.. I will save this Vlog so I have the details of who to see when I get there.. Cheers.. I feel really motivated now as to what I want/need to do.. Thank you lots for letting us all know about the plight of all these furry angels.. I will make contact with both parties to see if there is any medicines that are hard to get that I may be able to bring over from Australia.. that can be brought through customs of course.. maybe with a letter from a vet..? But yeah, I had planned to go to Koh Samui, now I have a very good reason to make sure that happens.. is there accommodation close to the Elfesworld and the pier ? I will have to do some Google research methinks..

I am so happy to see people like you helping these dogs. I live in Australia [Perth]. I live on a property, and I have been trying to adopt 2 dogs, since 2019 with no luck. I see people that work at these dog shelters, giving a sad story on TV about dogs that have been abandoned. But when I ring them and tell them I am ready to adopt a couple. I get told we will let you know. I had German Shepherds and Rotty's all my life, but now I can't get even one.
This story had me running the gamut of emotions from angry to happy. It's good to see there are people out there taking care of these beautiful fur babies :3

Hello, thank you for your reply. I am a lover of animals. Whether it be big cats, elephants, Rhino's or dogs. I love them all. Do you live in Koh Samui. I am planning to go to Thailand next year, if everything goes well. I live on a property here in Perth. I have asked the permission to adopt 2 Kangaroo's. That also is a NO. I am very disappointed with my country. When I was separated in 2000 and got my divorce. I went to Thailand, and when I saw the smiling people, the beaches and the scenery in Phuket. I decided then, that I would love to move to Phuket. I made a few enquiries, but was disappointed towards the end. Tourist cannot buy property but a Condo. There I was disappointed again. I travel to Phuket every year, but since this pandemic I haven't had a holiday in 3 years. I am hoping that the borders will be open pretty soon. Omicron and the Covid, is pretty bad at the moment. I will get in touch with you lovely people when I am ready. God Bless.

I have seen stray dogs in Samui but never knew the extent. It breaks my heart to see this 💔

Hello, thank you for your reply. I am a lover of animals. Whether it be big cats, elephants, Rhino's or dogs. I love them all. Do you live in Koh Samui. I am planning to go to Thailand next year, if everything goes well. I live on a property here in Perth. I have asked the permission to adopt 2 Kangaroo's. That also is a NO. I am very disappointed with my country. When I was separated in 2000 and got my divorce. I went to Thailand, and when I saw the smiling people, the beaches and the scenery in Phuket. I decided then, that I would love to move to Phuket. I made a few enquiries, but was disappointed towards the end. Tourist cannot buy property but a Condo. There I was disappointed again. I travel to Phuket every year, but since this pandemic I haven't had a holiday in 3 years. I am hoping that the borders will be open pretty soon. Omicron and the Covid, is pretty bad at the moment. I will get in touch with you lovely people when I am ready. God Bless.
