Is there a rough age or mileage you'd replace the alternator on a 3.2 PX1, mines 8 years old but only done 103k ,the alternator overun pulley makes the occasional slight squeeking noise. Would you suggest replacing just the overun pulley or just do the whole thing at that age ?
Hi Willie, the belt will be tensioned onto the tensioner roller (pulley) once the tensioner is released. The belt should not slip off if the components are intact, as the belt should be guided in place by the other pulleys with ribs.
I Just did this last night with my brother, I didn’t have to take anything out. Just pulled the belt off and put the new one on.

Why do you need to make a markings with the belt?
I cant see the need to remove the Air cleaner housing base. Why is that?
