Jane is the best female vocalist bar none in the UK. I have enjoyed Cilla, Sandie Shaw, Elkie Brooks, Dusty Springfield, Shirley Bassey et all and taking Blondie, Madonna and even Dianna Ross into reckoning from the other side, plain Jane gets my vote for a sweet woman singing the song as it should be without airs and graces fancy arrangements and hype.. One of the worst Female Acts to ever come to the public attention. I saw her on tv performing the Chic song I want your love. It was loathsome, I question people’s hearing the ones that take a McDonald CD in hand and hit play. She got lucky, if it wasn’t for that documentry she would be still sailing the seven seas singing Barbra Streisand songs. Just my opinion.
