Gorgeous sound (good looker too). It is the sound of newly machined parts fitting perfectly and valves timed to perfection.
She certainly sound and looks great mate, I agree with you on that👍🏻
Exactly what Mr Churchward was famed for. 👍👍👍
Ignoring that it leaks like a siv
The Swindon Bark🤘

Nice rake! I spent a few weekends there while stationed in the UK.
In the words of Neil Diamond, what a beautiful noise. You can't beat a loud steamer ❤
Steam trains are proof that history definitely needs to be repeated. We need more passenger Steam trains to life enjoyable and peaceful. Thanks for the video 😊
That sounds sharp ❤
Video certainly doesn’t do it justice 👍🏻
Certainly a beast
She is indeed 👍🏻
Good echoes too!
I take my hat off to the engineer who set the valves on her, that was just awesome!!I only wish I was track side.👌
The video truly doesn’t do the sound justice. In person it sounded ten times better 👍🏻
The sound of power.
Great video !
Cheers mate! 👍🏻
When I rode behind Hagley Hall in June, I thought it was the loudest engine there, clearly I have been proven wrong
You were correct. Halls are famous for their bark. Saw a nice video of one on this site and it was epic. (6960?).
It would be interesting to take a meter and compare the Saint's volume level to an S160.
That would be excellent
The prettiest GWR engine
She certainly looks the part!
Southern U and N moguls have the same loud bark; there will be a good explanation somewhere!
Not that loud!
that does have a lot of power , no pusher engine ;;
It doesn't need a pusher, seven carriage load no problem.
She had eight on.
Ooo look it’s lady of leaks
Loudest and leakiest !!!!!
Certainly agree on the leakiest 👍🏻
