My ProMix is full of fungus gnats. Ugh. So I've poured boiling water over the next batch before I use it. I've been told I can use my steamer and steam it. That might be a better way to go. The building renovation is fabulous. I enjoyed the tour immensely!
Good for you, I’m excited to see what I can learn from you. I’m just a home gardener and this is my second year for seed starting and I’m hooked! Who knew! Wish I’d have learned this 20 years ago.
@ thank you, I have a garden, and the sweetest potting shed, but I had no idea I could draw so much enjoyment and comfort from growing seeds! I am 65. I do know Utube gardening has brought me a lot of enjoyment. Thank you for your channel. Someday maybe I’ll find your shop!
Very exciting! I was trying to find the S hooks you use.. couldn’t locate in the description. I’ve been using paper clips but don’t trust them for strength!
I do not miss any of your Videos! I have a question concerning the use of lights. Per your advise I have purchased a number of shop lights at 5500 Lumens. As your seedlings grow how many inches do you keep as a distance between the lights and the plants. Right now my plants have grown and they are starting to crowd the lights. Can you advise me as to what distance between my lights and the plants itself. Thank you for all of your help.
Definitely keep soace between the light and plants. Your lights are strong enough that you don’t need to keep them Super closer. I would keep 3-5 space maybe? I’ve never really measured what I have 😊 I adjust my chains to raise the lights as the plants grow
When Using the 4500+ lumen LED lights, do you still need to keep light close to the seedlings so they don’t stretch, or is the output strong enough to keep at one height?
HOW are you going recoup all that building renovation and purchase cost 💲 selling at farmers markets??? Really- sorry but good luck- your going to need it obviously
It's amazing how you took that dilapidated building and did all you did! Kudos!
Thank you!
I'm gearing up for my first every growing year and your videos have been invaluable! Thanks so much.
That is amazing! Isn’t it a joy to work in a clean, organized space? Your tulips look amazing.
I'm so happy for you!!!! way to go with everything you have accomplished. love your journey
I took your advice and bought the same mister last year, love it! Best of luck with the tulips and thank you for the tour.

Wow, it’s perfect
It's great to see all of the things you have going on! Do you have plans to share how your vermicompost system works? Thank you.
I have a video from a few years ago about it but I could share again if there’s interest!
@@SunshineFlora I will have to look that up.
@@SunshineFlora Found it!

Oh sorry! I’ll add to the description!!!

Great video with so much seed starting information. What about humidity levels? Do you monitor that? Any actions you take? Thank you Christine!!
I haven’t had to do much yet - we will see how it goes when I get all my seeds going and how the basement reacts

Where did you get your bulb forcing trays?
Leo Berbee
What do you keep the temperature in your basement?
I need to get my Govee set up again but it’s usually in the upper 60s
When Using the 4500+ lumen LED lights, do you still need to keep light close to the seedlings so they don’t stretch, or is the output strong enough to keep at one height?
I still move them up and down
@ thanks, I’ve been doing that but was HOPING it was unnecessary. Rats!
Lumens…if you have two 4000 lumen fixtures per shelf, does that combine to be 8000 or would it still be 4000? Something I’ve always wondered.
8000
I use 2 lights per shelf because one doesn’t spread the light quite enough

The main floor is a retail store that we have already opened
How rude!
Someone sound jealous.
