Joe and his wife's food forest is so inspirational. I live in the next county over and would love to see their place. It makes my little food forest seem inconsequential but maybe just a first step. This place is a treasure and Joe was so kind to share it with all of us. Add my name to his fan club list. My neighbor told me about this video and i'm so glad he did. I learned a lot.
Funny, I wanna see their place to. I seen it when living in china. Comes to find out I moved 8n the same city as them as I will try and visit anyone wanna come? I got extra bedroom
Pete all your videos are great but the last few weeks rival just about anything anyone else is doing. You sure have found some outstanding gardens/homesteads and have highlighted all of them in all their glory. Thank you so much for taking the time to share them !!
Wow thanks John! Now how can we take this channel to the next level? Our new subscribers and views have actually dropped a little the last few months , do we post too much? I'm wondering if the daily uploads are overwhelming.
That's hard to believe Pete. The content is incredible. I think you have taken it up a notch. Interesting people and gardens/food forests that are beyond imaginable. I'm not sure what would increase views or subs . I'm not even close to your area but I'm fascinated by the past few weeks of videos you have produced. Inovative and creative gardeners/homesteaders with so much to share !! I cant believe its the daily uploads but honestly I'm not sure why it would lower. I look forward to each of them.
Maybe some people are looking for information and tips? I remember when I saw you in Justin's video and you were just slinging information left and right about each plant/tree it was impressive and made me want to achieve that amount of knowledge. I know I am always looking to learn more about my plants and trees, especially something I might want to plant in the future.
I'm absolutely in love with this channel, the information I've been able to gather, the personalities I've been able to " meet" through your videos, is so satisfying...it's easy, too easy really, to get down about " people" and the environment and the state of the union as it were, but I come here and see folks living closer to nature and I see that self sufficiency is possible and it gives me hope. Thanks Pete+growin'on crew. Ya'll rock!
Pete, I think you said that your wife does the editing of the videos. If so, she does a fantastic job and picks some great background music. The whole package keeps us wanting more. Keep up the great job and I really like Joe...seems like a really nice fellow.
Wow...I love that ! I either have to sell one day (though have planted ~ 6000 plants in nearly 30 yrs...no exaggeration and so have some nerve damage now when I plant now) and get flood irrigation...or move to a more rainy Florida...just love the drive in ! (ps...The Hamlin Sweet Orange is fairly popular here in AZ)
Jeff move to Florida!!! I'll come make a video before you leave, that's a lot of plants! I miss local citrus so badly! I was have some serious flash backs eating it on this trip.
Great video again Pete. Thanks for the heads up about the fejoa flower being edible, just tasted some from my 2 trees and thank goodness I don't enjoy the fruit, as there will be no blossoms left...delicious!
ps...MSU has a great hort department...he may know Professor Price (I believe). Though long retired, he headed their Horticulture Department for many yrs...I worked with his son Tom, who used to head up our Property Management division...
Plenty of wisdom there. If it's a struggle you will eventually get bored trying to grow it. I use a shotgun approach a lot: Put propagules in various spots and let them show me where they want to be by their performance.
Wow! I'm just an hour away where that guy lives...I'd been growing purple yam but not that much but was able to harvest every year and make pinoy desserts out of it😁
TurbineBorescope I was actually going to make a video just about that. But the citrus greening is like the AIDS virus. It's not a problem further north because the cooler weather keeps the pest in check.
jurie Matthysen I've been working with plants since I was 15yrs old. Basically just lots of time playing in the dirt, hands on experience is the best way to learn.
Ron Hart, Piranhas are no scarier than alligators. He says that the alligators are not in his pond, but about 30 feet behind. I have lived in Florida my whole 65 years and if there is a pond...there is likely an alligator in it anywhere in Florida! They travel from pond to pond especially during mating season. I live in central east coast Florida and I’ve seen alligators in the Walmart parking lot, crossing over to another pond ;) There is no better place to live as far as I’m concerned cuz I can grow anything I want, get dirty and sweaty hanging with my plants, then walk to the ocean to dip in and cool off! I love Florida!
haha at the fat wildlife good on him :p ive always thought humans purpose was to enhance the ecosystem and diversity, not the opposite like the majority of lost city humans
I hope these people give you a sampler box to take away. It's so weird to watch people show but not offer. Am used to people sharing from living in Hawaii. It's incredibly rude to not practically force people to eat and share your food.
I want to be Joe when I grow up. Joe knows why we're on this planet. So much love for this.

Hey Linda! Glad you enjoyed. I really need to get back in touch with Joe and do a follow up tour.

Taro are "GOOD" for sinigang (sour-soup )👍
Fantastic! Why can you not grow citrus down where you are at?
TurbineBorescope
Citrus diseases.
TurbineBorescope I was actually going to make a video just about that. But the citrus greening is like the AIDS virus. It's not a problem further north because the cooler weather keeps the pest in check.
How can we get in contact with Joe? I live in the Pensacola area.
Good question. Please email me. I’ll try to get his contract info. Admin@greendreamsfl.com
Where did you get all your knowledge about all the trees and plants
jurie Matthysen I've been working with plants since I was 15yrs old. Basically just lots of time playing in the dirt, hands on experience is the best way to learn.
Great video! Consider doing some collaboration work with Elizabeth she seems like a great person. 😊
Wesley Robins we visited Elizabeth at the community garden, a few videos before this one. She was great, can't wait to go back!

"thats about it on the flower"? Is he fucking for real?
You could have done that 1/4 the price in the Philippines.. Makes me laugh the money you guys spend on something that's so cheap to do
Soil is POOR
