So glad you guys are alright. Stay safe. Kinda hoping you would post something about your experience on covid 19 since I know anesthesia play a big role in being primary team intubating covid patients.
All these experts thinking they’d somehow do better in this situation. Likely criticism with no experience. I’m really glad you had quick enough reaction time to brake early enough so that you didn’t get pinned… a few more feet forward would have not been good. Truck is at fault he caused the accident failing to stop safely even when nothing was in front of him.
@@zed4me it is of course the car that leaved fault but after that was you and the truck driver ,because you haven't any reason to stop the car at highway and that kind of heavy vehicle can't stop as quickly as a car
I personally would take this down till after everything is taken care of with insurance. As for fault it will be the semi, he failed to yield and keep s safe distance. They would have been able to see the initial Altima loosing control and multiple cars hitting their brakes
Dang. Yeah insurance has told me a few times to say it's better to come in contact...I do think that it's also dangerous to come to a stop in the middle of the freeway when you're not actually disabled, trying to make it to the shoulder on the right would have been a future maneuver to consider. I know it's much easier said than done, I've been in similar situations. Take care!
Whiplash issues take time to show and can cause problems years later. Even if it was just some soreness the next day I'd encourage you both to get checked over. Glad you are all OK!
We were rear ended on the NJ Turnpike in heavy traffic when the car behind me failed to notice that we had slowed. I estimated he rear ended us at about a 25-28 MPH speed differential. My wife was napping and she had her neck pillow on. I was desperately trying to change lanes but I was blocked by traffic. I was surprised my neck was a little stiff the next day since I was looking at my side mirror and I tensed up as I watched him come into us, plus I was holding my dog in her seat bed (she was in the front and my wife spread out in the back) since I was worried that she would be jostled and she just had $4,000 surgery to repair a torn ACL. Our 2017 CX-5 held up remarkably well. The bumper and crash guard were shot, the lift gate had a crease in it, but it still functioned. I did notice my seat back actually needed adjustment since it slightly reclined. That was the biggest surprise. I thought automotive manufacturers had specifically addressed this. The biggest problem post crash was matching the Soul Red paint. The body shop painted the bumper 2 or 3 times but they had issues matching the bumper specifically due to the material it is made out of. I still think it doesn’t match perfectly and it bothers me every time I notice it.
Yeah I’m sure Soul Red is a very hard color for a body shop to duplicate/match based on the stories I’d heard when the color was released. Apparently one of the higher ups at Mazda was touring the auto show scene and saw that color or one similar to it on a few concept cars and wanted his engineers to figure out a way to bring it to their lineup even though he was told the process and cost to do so would be extravagant. The article also went on to say that Mazda charging a measly $300 to $500 more per car for soul red paint does not even cover their cost or make them money.
@@jameswillard1 The color is very difficult for the bodyshop to match and my bodyshop was surprised how little Mazda charged for the color. Even the dealers are wary of it. On top of that, I do not think it is very durable and scratches and chips easily.
Glad you're ok. I think in Florida the semi trucks are not allowed in the passing lane. But every state is different. I think he lost control so he is definitely liable for your damage. Just what I think. anyway as you know and I'm sure as everybody has said have really comments the most important thing is that you and your wife are okay. All the best man.
Just looked it up, trucks can't use left lane on three lane or more on freeways. He really should've just slowed down and all this would've been avoided..
I was an insurance invesigator in UK. Your insurance company will be less than happy. Leave it with them to deal with your claim and for them to share with the other party as and when they think its oportune.
Thankfully no major injuries besides the cars but what would be the reason to get the plates? I doubt that person would pay since no contact, besides that person leaving the scene
Airbags didn't deploy but I don't think the impact was hard enough to trigger it. I'm glad it didn't, there was a recall on the passenger side airbag that I didn't get to the dealership to fix yet. Could've caused more damage than help.
Because I was assessing the situation to make sure it was safe to proceed. There was no warning that the truck was going to hit until I heard it screech the brakes at which point it was too late already.
Update: Truck driver found 100% liable, have since been fully reimbursed for damages and loss. Wife and I, and our dog, are completely fine! :)
What car do you have or planning to buy?

I’m happy everyone is okay
From my understanding only one person (the car on my right that I got pushed into) went to the hospital with minor injuries.
Let this be a lesson…the traffic behind you doesn’t stop just because you do, not should it because it creates a wall a traffic for all lanes.
Folks remember that dash cams come in handy & it does not matter which state you are in.

Yep. Exactly right. Just happy no one was injured in our vehicle. Replaced with a 2018 Honda Pilot and loving it.
This could have been much worse for both you and your dog. You should buy a dog harness that is compatible with a seatbelt attachment.
Honda pilot the best car
I'm sorry bro!
What car did you get? Or RS3 😉
Why didn't you speed up or used your mirror?
If I sped up we would have been pinned between the truck and the barricade

This time it was a Rexing.. I use a bunch of different brands, they all have pros and cons.

The reason to get the plates would be to have the coward convicted for leaving the scene.
Damn....glad you, your wife, and dog are ok and I hope you get compensated for the loss. Assume airbags deployed?

Very unwise to place this on here whilst your claim is being dealt with.
I couldn't find any info about this, can you explain why?
