- 737 Husking bed and 802 mule.
The goal in life is to only do this once and it'll stay on the mule forever! The valve was a real joy to deal with at the bottom of the machine, but I wanted it fixed right. The valve was off when the bed was mounted, so that's why I pulled the mule back with a tractor. I discovered that the pulley design of the husking bed limited me to only two drive belts, not three. Eventually, I'll get to the elevator and feeder house, but I want to check the brakes first because, mud. I don't need them to stop, but I may need them for steering.
So I think the rear axle slides so that you can move the wheel closer to the frame. It gives you more space to drive into and away from the attachment. My Dad had one of these with all the attachments when I was real little so I never really helped much with swapping out attachments. But he never needed to use fork lifts and skids steers and struggle the way you are.
After working with Uni Systems for 50 years I can tell you about one little problem that you will have with putting a 700 series husking bed on an 800 series power unit. The 800 series power unit is longer and that means that cob elevator is too short. I ran one that way one season and it was sort of a pain. I'm sure that you will figure out a solution. Happy Picking!
I've welded for 54 years that weld looks great good job
I forgot to tell you, there's a Uni sitting outside of Wilmington with a corn head and a husking bed (don't know if its the same) Get a hold of me if you want the details.
There was a little bit of difference between the frames on the newer style and older power units. That is why your rear bracket was off.
Don't underestimate your Lincoln 225. I got mine for Christmas when I was 16. I realize it's AC only. But, I have used it to build and repair all kinds of stuff! Replaced the leads and stinger several times. However, I have never touched the insides! It's a tough machine you can count on. I bet your altered bracket holds just fine.
Reminds me of trying to attach or remove a 60” deck from a Toro 5xi garden tractor like a 522xi. Owners manual instructs to slide deck, turn steering wheel, slide deck, turn steering wheel the other way, slide deck, turn steering wheel, slide deck etc. The manual should have just said block rear wheels, lift front of tractor with a floor jack, slide deck sideways, lower floor jack, engage attach a matic. Pull floor jack away.
I had to laugh when I heard the music "Johnny Come Marching Home Again"
Nothing like a great war song to help you fight your battle while keeping in your mind this will soon be over and I will go home🙂🇺🇲
Jacob, best wishes to you for a great 2022
Thank you.
Happy New Year!
If you remove the front tire you should be able to back straight in with the lift and set it on the frame Happy New Year not a problem you can not work out May God bless you and your family
That tire is loaded.
Using the stands on a flat piece of cement make it easy to mount each unit.
Unfortunately, I didn't get stands, so I had to be creative. I don't plan on taking the picker off.
Pretty interesting. Great video description. Can't wait to see it in the field
Happy NewYear to you your Mom and Dad and all
Great awesome video Jacob , can’t wait to see it in the field picking corn
Looks like no more ear corn picking on an open tractor in the cold.👍👍👍
Well you got it on , that's a step in the right direction
Seemed to go easier than taking the other one off. Happy New Year to you and your family.
Have you considered plumbing in a remote grease zerk for the inside of the husking bed? Love the videos! Keep them up.
Love the music choice.
Love the old reliable 1086, if it was a cold JD you would have been spending the day charging batteries and giving it cosby in the can LMO.
It's not the prettiest tractor, but it's always ready to roll.
👍👌🇨🇦❤, good-day Jacob, a bit chilly here to, -46 C or -50.8 F, 🥶
That would be delightful to have frozen ground.
@@boehmfarm4276 oh it is frozen, frost goes down here between 8 and 10 ft, depending on snow cover, thanks for the videos Jacob, made my 2021 a whole lot better
Never weld in a RUclips video. Everyone in the comment section is a professional welder.
Those people are insecure "recliner critics " . They have to tear others down to feel superior. True masters of any trade know they always have something new to learn and are willing teach others.
@@petepeeff5807 check out" straight pipe acres " welding. That guy has had lots of practice
You an your dad did a great job. Happy new. Year
Those welds will "Hode" just fine 😆
Happy new year
Did you get the 3x90? The three means a 3 belt matched set, you always want a matched set when all three are don't the same pullys.
Love your videos Jacob but I sure hope you get your phone fixed or a new one. That blurry spot is getting on my nerves. Lol. Have a Happy Blessed New Year! Thanks for the video
Nice work Jacob.Stay safe and Happy New Year.
Good job on the bracket.
The husking bed only runs 2 belts. The combine runs 3, the chopper may run more. If you think you will never have the bed off again, you must not figure on owning it long. Did you not get the legs with the bed? It is common for the brakes to not work on the hydro Unis, because they never get used. I hope you installed the 2 mounting bolts in the front at the tube and saddle.
I have had fairly good luck finding the belts from a place called off-road v belts. I think they are in Rock valley, Iowa, they have a huge d&d belt Warehouse right next to them I think. What I have done is cross reference my combine belt out of a shoup catalog or Google, to find my size, or sometimes they have a cross reference also. I got a belt that John Deere wanted $80, for $15 for my old 218 bean head. I hate going to the dealership, because I always feel like I'm getting ripped off, because of things like John Deere workers going on strike.
Going to any dealership a person is getting ripped off anymore, doesn't matter the brand. Great suggestion with that company, I've gotten belts from them myself and been plenty happy.
Workers going on strike doesn’t make belt prices go up. Prices go up because they won’t a better margin.
@@lucasaccount573 when the workers are demanding more pay and John Deere has to comply and pay them more, then parts prices have to go up as well to help compensate for that, is what I'm trying to say. I'm sure all prices are going up because of the feds printing of mass amounts of dollars and the unchecked inflation we are now experiencing.
V Belt Supply is also a very good place to get belts.
The farm that you bought it from did they quit chopping corn all together or did they upgrade to a newer chopper? I could see where they were frustrated with it from the video you took of them chopping with it and the head constantly plugging up/not feeding in properly
They got a newer chopper
Happy Holidays
Happy New year
Was just wondering what happened to Brad ? Thx for the videos !!
He's driving a semi now.
What ever happened to the 2+2
Nothing wrong with that welding. Welding is like learning to play a musical instrument. Practice, Practice, Practice..... Then when you think you have it. Practice some moore.
Hey Jake, do you plan on keeping the chopper around if for nothing other than a spare when you can't get parts for the NH?
No, because there's less parts for the UNIs. I'm trying to clean up the barnyard. However slowly...
@@boehmfarm4276 fair enough, hopefully sell it to someone? I thought there would have been more parts, personally I love the unis
🧙♂️☕♥️😊🙏🇺🇲🚜
Take the right front tire off.😀
That is what I was thinking. But it may put the whole rig out of balance because the front right tire is the only
loaded tire on the rig.
Josh butterfest your not a nice know it all
Why the fuck did you take the husking bed off in the first place you should have left it on
Taking it off the 2WD gas mule and putting it on the 4WD Diesel mule. Better in the mud
Why the hell didn’t you just purchase a 4wd with a husking bed already on it because now if you want to use the 2wd instead of the 4wd you have to go through the process of taking the husking bed off the 4wd unit how dumb can you honestly be
@@joshbutterfass5251 his neighbour had the 4WD one and sold it for dirt cheap. The other one was also dirt cheap. Little bit of work never hurt no one
@josh butterfass. Stop swearing and calling people names. I think he knows what he is doing. He has been doing it all his life.
@@joshbutterfass5251 Do you watch the videos?? The 2WD mule went down the road already, and he's gonna sell the chopper and head because he doesn't need or want it. He wants a self propelled 4WD diesel powered corn picker/husker, that's it. Once it's on he doesn't plan on pulling it off unless he has to for repairs at some point. Course that's not in Farm Sim so you probably don't know that LOL :) OL J R :)
