Hmm… Tinubu’s results so far has been horrendous but maybe he is a blessing in disguise. States need to be productive.

Did the north really think we were gonna feed them for donkey years to come? My friends there is no free lunch anywhere in the world even in saudi Arabia, yes they pray five times also but they still make out time to go to work to make a living. The north has remained lazy, reaping where they sow nothing, ruled 46 yrs out 64 yrs of our nationhood, poverty everywhere even with the most arable land found anywhere yet they can't figure it out. Iam utterly shocked that just one year of Tinubu they are complaining but the south endured a harrowing 8yrs of the Tyrant called Buhari with his northernization agenda, the NOrth did not say a thing. Tinubu must do his 8yrs as a lesson to all the triblists and religious zealots,

Lagos State should be the only State moaning about this tax reform since it will reduce their IGR. All other states should be celebrating.

Definitely yes! The North wants the Southern Nigeria to pay tax and continues to do so. This reform will force them off their backsides to find an alternative to the monthly payment/share. Nigeria must be restructured because the country is bankrupt of the handouts to the North who refused to move forward.

This bill will force states to be better economic planners ! They will plan and organize their government function to cater for and attract economic activities that will generate tax revenue for themselves. This is what obtains everywhere else in the world.. state governors should actually work to make their state attractive to investors. When you just sit , do nothing and just collect money every month, you will be very lazy. You are benefitting from the Labour of other people. That’s not fair, just or equitable.

President Bola Tinubu has rejected the National Economic Council’s (NEC) proposal to withdraw the controversial tax reform bill, insisting the council follow the “legislative process.”
