- Why megabit per second or MBPS is important for your video?
The higher megabit you camera could record, the more details of images it could capture.
What is the recommended megabit per second your camera should have?
Most of the cameras that could shoot 4K in 8 bits colour is : 100 mega bits per second or 100mbps.
This is common for social media especially RUclips.
With this capacity, you can use V30 UHS1 memory card, which is cheap to buy in the market.
If you camera could record higher MBPS and in 10 bits you may have to fork out a huge sum of money to buy much higher quality memory card such as UHSii V60 or V90.
FYI : the lowest usage of MBPS in cinema camera is 250 megabit per second or 250MBPS.
Among the highest consumer cameras that currently could record 200MBPS and beyond are Sony ZVE10ii, A6700, ZVE1, A7CII, A7CR, FujiFilm XM-5, XT5, Lumix GH7, GH6, GH5, GH5ii & Lumix S5S, S5ii, S5iiX, S9 and other cameras
If your focus on social media only, you could opt for cameras that record 100MBPS namely Sony ZV1, ZV1M2, ZVE10, A6400, A6600, A7C previous Fujifilm cameras, Lumix G85,G95, GX90, G100 and the list goes on.
