I think the longing to hear Tyler sing about hope is because of the more personal connection we as fans have developed with him, even if only through music. You get to hoping that he's alright himself and that he still believes the things that gave him hope in his darkest places - The things he began singing about when he was just a teenager. I think that's why these lines hit so hard to me. Even if the Christian themes are more covert in Tyler's music, they're still the backbone of what started all of this for him. That's my feeling, anyway.

In his earlier songs like Implicit Demand for Proof that is a direct song to God. In Addict With A Pen that's a song to God. Majority of his songs are about his faith and mental well being.
