I saw Robbie play years ago in Chattanooga at a small little bar, best live show I have seen thus far. Pure talent. He sucks though, for making me think of old friends and better days.
Not exceptional at all, I don't think. He's Gordon Lightfoot and he's Tony Rice. If you were to set up your media player to play those three artists at random, I don't think you could tell them apart.
When I say his vocals remind me of Tony rice, I mean it as highest of praise. The songwriting is something I've been missing for many years. Great stuff, Robbie Fulks!
A good Steel guitar always give me goosebumps. .... 'till the fiddle comes scratching in ... and then its him singing so clear and true. Sorrow, I know it. Great all around. Superb.
Kudos, again, to Audiotree for such a beautiful recording. I wish I had the resources to guarantee that all of your audio people worked every recording, ever.
You're listening to the wrong music, is my guess. I don't notice a "shortage" in what I listen to. If anything, there are far too many banjos. And banjo players. Waay too many banjo players.
Everything about this is good. Great songwriting, vocals and band. And - the production is first class. Love the subtle lighting, camerawork and quality sound. You guys do it up right. Kudos to all.
This is so beyond "Awesome" for the charge it gives my spirit ! So very much appreciated at this hour ! I was once from Illinios . I have some great friends in Elko , . Family from and still in Nashville ;>)
How come I've never heard of this guy? He's amazing. When he rocks out, he sound just like Ben Folds. The song at 5:50 sound like Willie Nelson. He might be the best artist no One has ever heard of .
ram 40 I have been listening to Robbie for about 25 yearsor more, he is a local favorite here in Chicago. I haven't seen him play in a bit, though, but I keep up on his music as best I can.
Robbie is one of those guys who reminds you that there are a lot more chords in a three chord than you had originally thought.
Let's keep this man relevant.
He's made old school, new school again. And he's tall. Real tall...

Mud Pie? I was there!
It all just comes out so easily. This is some fine music.
So great!
The esteemed SHAD COBB on the fiddle!
Holy smokes, you guys sound fantastic. Great to , The Buck starts. Here is such a killer song. Wow.
An NPR review by Ken Tucker brought me here. I wholeheartedly agree with Tucker that Fulks’ voice and lyrics are exceptional.
Not exceptional at all, I don't think.

@@murphroberts4891 His guitar stylings may owe a lot to Rice, but his wordsmithing is levels above either of those guys, plus he's way more versatile.
@@murphroberts4891 You're tripping, as the children say.
A wonderful performance. Stellar songs, arrangements, playing, heart. Everything about music that is important.
So great. I could listen to this forever.

I really like this melody. Robbie has a very smooth calming voice. Pretty good guitar player also.
The absolute best way to record. All in the one room together and well rehearsed.
Kudos, again, to Audiotree for such a beautiful recording. I wish I had the resources to guarantee that all of your audio people worked every recording, ever.
i hope every one of my thousands friends gets on board the Robbie Fulks sound...
I'd settle for my three.
He;s SO fucking good. He doesn't have a bad song.
You don't have many violinist in todays music..... I love it.... Beautiful voice and lyrics

essential for fans of real songwriting
Oh, you mean Hip-hop isn't real songwriting??
( I agree that hip-hop is more alike smearing shit on an otherwise clean sheet of paper).

Saw Robbie a few Weeks ago with same line up but Gerald Dowd (drums). Great band if you get a chance to see Robbie live Go!!!

He will be at the Cinema Bar out near LAX on Jan. 4, 2020, with Rick Shea.
His lyrics are so clever, and his voice is amazing. He's playing with Noam Pilkeny at the OTSOFM in May.
Robbie is one of the best there is these days, too bad Nashville and country radio sucks so much, he might be well known

ram 40 That song is called The Buck Starts Here. Great song.
hell of a player and writer, no slam on Tim O'Brien I like Robbie more,
Ehh... Not so sure about this host. Robbie is tolerating him.
I don't think he picked up on any of Robbie's jokes
