Motorsports has always been a rich man sport, Byron had well off parents who had the dough to support him. There probably drivers out there who are more talented than him, but they lack the funds to pursue it. Plain and simple.
I still don't get the whole, started on a computer thing, like I get that he played iracing before going to a car but it's not like his iracing talent led to a ride irl, he just begged his rich parents for his first start in something real like any other driver.
Maybe the reason he got a ride is because of his hard work coupled with his talent. Undermining a driver who competes at the pinnacle of his discipline shows a lot more about you than anything. Sure money can buy a ride, though it cannot buy wins, and it seems people that complain about “rich kids” are complaining about the winners.

iirc it was his Sim driving that got him into Chevys program as a sim driver, and then got some starts from that. The only bill I can remember his parents covering (at least stated by Byron himself) was his earlier Late Model forays
Spoild rich kid... what are you talking about? He has been one of if not the best driver in all three series at some point in time, I'm not a Byron fan but that's just not true. He is easily one of the top 10 best drivers racing the cup series today.
@youuuuuuuuuuu First off he wouldn't have made it nearly as fat as he did without the talent. He was in KBM and JRM equipment because yes he had sponsors backing him but he was incredibly talented and if not for a blown motor he would have won the truck championship in 2016. If a driver is spoiled and doesn't have much talent most times they are gone pretty quick, Drew Dollar comes to mind. You almost need sponsors to make it now a days but the sponsors won't get you far without talent. Like Ty Gibbs yeah he drives for JGR but he is incredibly talented and I am a Kyle Busch fan so I don't like him.
I remember I went to a legends race when I was 15 because I was convinced I could become a race car driver. There were two kids there. One of them races on dirt and is probably going to world of outlaws. The other one was Landen Lewis.

I rebuilt the same small block chrvy 327ci engine in my imca modified the last 55+ races straight
