During disassembly make note of the "clock" position of the wiring where it enters the blower motor. When reinstalling the motor into the housing make sure the leads are in the same position they were in so wire and plug reconnection is simple. Also, especially on an ECM motor try to position the lead connections so they are facing at least slightly downwards so potential condensation on wires won't follow gravity into the motor.
Great animation. Watching the can of penetrating oil and the emery cloth moving without someone's arm and hand reminded me of scenes in the old 1950's shows "The Invisible Man". I guess I'm showing my age.
Brian, can you please make a video or a note showing the importance of making sure you put the set screw back on the flat spot of the motor's shaft? I know that many people forget to tighten it down on the flat spot and will have call backs!
One thing that's just as important!! Make sure before you tear into washing brushing and what not, mark where any balancing weights are or you WILL regret it, then you'll have to get it rebalanced!($) 🤔🥃🥃🍺🍺🍺 Stay safe. Keyboard super tech. Wear your safety glasses.
My employer does on the job training, and the entry level job is IAQ (interior air quality) which entails duct tests, and duct vac’s, the duct vac also includes pulling and cleaning the blower. When I moved into maintenance I had blowers (and only blowers) down.
My blades have a lot of rust spots all over the blades. I rinsed and used fan blade cleaner. Lots of dirt came off, but still this rust or rust like stuff will not come off.
I have been replacing filters regularly maybe every 4 to 6 months on my new two years old AC pro. I haven’t checked the blower yet, but do I really need to clean it?
Showing pictures to the customer really helps. "Look at all this gross stuff stuck in your blower! Do you want me to clear that out or keep breathing it? It takes a while so I have to charge additional labor." What do you all out there charge for your blower deep clean?
I was stuck on this service call the other day. I have a newer mini split blowing about 75 degree air out of it in heat mode they have another one also in heating it blows 120. They both have refrigerant. Maybe overcharged ??!
We're stuck trying to remove the motor from the housing. It goes to the point where the rod is flat with the hole and stops no matter how hard we pull.
Ours is really dirty, inhad it serviced however, tge guy didn't do any of that $100 bucks later. Should I hire someone , I'm a housewife with a husband with very little handyman skills. That said he works extremely hard and I'm good with that. I'm handy with some things but as of lately I'm finding a lot of things that need inspected etc. I'm overwhelmed. What advice would you give for my situation. My wheel is up high like your video shows. It doesn't look hard but again. I don't want to damage anything due to the cost of damaging my system.
Commenting on an old video. Why is this not listed in your maintenance items? Seems like you all clean everything with the HVAC systems except the blower. I heard you present pricing to the customer to pull. Does this still make sense to you? I'm currently pitching the argument to my techs that blower cleaning should be done on all maintenance. I'd like to understand more about your thoughts on this. Why does it seem to be a standard procedure throughout all companies to clean everything but the blower motor and wheel?
Can anybody recommend a good online HVAC program to get certified? I've been looking into the NATE program (CHP-5). Has anybody done taken this? Opinion? Thanks
I think someone could start a specialty company that just does blower cleaning. Nobody does this anymore. Calling local HVAC companies only shows they want to sell new units and not do cleaning
I agree the motor will take a dump when it is time. Other than your suggestion you can try and blow it out with the compressor along with vacuuming it.
I subscribed your channel and watching your videos all great learning videos .but You are speaking so fast and it's difficult to understand specifically for international students or English as second language . I prefer to speak slowly so everybody understand well.
Stepping it up a notch bringing that video graphics to the next level. With the invisible Man
Vary good d welcome thankyou sir

Thanks! my A/C blower runs quieter and moves WAY more air now!! Thanks so much.
really good video. clear, concise and no background music! Thanks.

Very important to get ALL of the dirt off. Little bits left behind can put the wheel off balance causing vibration at speed.
Nice 👍
Simply EXCELLENT, this people is THE BEST OF THE BEST in the HVAC school business.
The animation was on point !!! Perfectly explained!
Thank you. I foolishly thought cleaning was part of annual maintenance until the tech quoted me over $500 additional to do it.

Stay safe.
Keyboard super tech.
Wear your safety glasses.
Wow! Nice 3D visuals. Thank you for the detailed instructions!
Awesome information on the blower removal for maintenance. Thank You
WOW those graphics are insane. Love it! thanks a bunch!!!
You have set a new level in training videos , nice job !
New here, learning about ac units.
Great video. Don't ask me why I noticed it but the blower is running backwards at the end of the video.
Wow!!! Great info. 10 years and i have never done this

Thanks this video saved me $1700 for a quote to clean my 2 3 ton ac units blower wheels
Using a honeywell F50 (without pre filters) SP of .1 for 22 years and my blower wheel is absolutely clean.
This will help with my pet hair issue. Thankyou!!!
Great video, the animated video really shows the details
My blades have a lot of rust spots all over the blades. I rinsed and used fan blade cleaner. Lots of dirt came off, but still this rust or rust like stuff will not come off.
Very thorough and well explained. Thank you!!!
Thank you very much for your video, it has saved my life 😅 I could do it alone
Graphics are insane! Just by looking at the wheel, How can you tell which way it should rotate?
Wow this is next level video graphics, thank you so much team !
I love the animations! I’m gonna be the butt head that points out that the blower wheel and rotation are backwards.
Lol!!! I was thinking the same damn thing. 🤔 I was like that airflow is going the wrong way lol!!
Also lubricate bearings in the motor while it's accessible, they will be dry
Thank you. Very simple and professional..
Loving the animation
You could do a whole video series with stuff that needs fixed at my house. Let me know if you are ever in MN.
I have been replacing filters regularly maybe every 4 to 6 months on my new two years old AC pro. I haven’t checked the blower yet, but do I really need to clean it?
If the blower is dirty the coil is probably dirty too.
Showing pictures to the customer really helps. "Look at all this gross stuff stuck in your blower! Do you want me to clear that out or keep breathing it? It takes a while so I have to charge additional labor." What do you all out there charge for your blower deep clean?
That was very good information thanks.
Great animations. Thanks!
I will do mine this summer
Am going be using this for my Junior's really great
Also, I cannot believe you guys dont have more subs! That's gonna change soon though, keep up the great work
I'd like to start doing similar 3D demos for a different industry. How did you make the 3D content?
What grease can you use for the shaft ? Ours it’s making a loud squeaky sound. My father took it out to clean it and forgot to add grease 😬
Excellent video, thanks!
Thanks man,
Great video, with nice educational 3D animations
Careful not to remove balancing weight (s).
I was stuck on this service call the other day. I have a newer mini split blowing about 75 degree air out of it in heat mode they have another one also in heating it blows 120. They both have refrigerant. Maybe overcharged ??!
How long does this usually take and whats a reasonable price for a tech to do it?
Wow nice. Good job
Thanks for the video
Sounds like something a homeowner like me can do.
Love the video graphics, but it appears to me that at the end of the video, the blower wheel is spinning CCW. Shouldn't it be spinning CW?
In the animation, it looks like the cups of the blower are CCW, are these cups not scooping air but pushing it or I am nitpicking on the animation ?
Yeah... its pretty much wrong
It was a ecm trying to find itself....
@@HVACS just wanted to check myself, apart from that, animation is great
Love these videos thanks

Damn. Next level 💯 👌 💪 😎 🤪 👏
It’s like Brian has been reading my mind lately
Wow thank you

Is that galvanized pipe for the gas at 58 seconds?
What is a fair price to have this done by the AC Company?
3000 plus dollars……….

What CAD software do you use for the animation?

This is happening to us right now. He just said the motor was caked and the entire central heat/air system needs replacing.
@@lalaslemon that’s like saying your cars air filter is dirty time to buy a new engine 😂
our AC cool air smells dusty. and today the technician showed the motor blower is dirty, can this be the reason for the dusty smell?
There is absolutely no need to remove the motor simply to clean the fan wheel. Get a 1"round fan brush and a vacuum.
My 15,000 service calls worth of experience strongly disagrees with you.
Yeah? Not with the way mine was
I agree the motor will take a dump when it is time. Other than your suggestion you can try and blow it out with the compressor along with vacuuming it.
I have seen fans that no brush and vacuuming are enough so is better to clean it the right way
My blower wheel doesn't just have light layer dust, it's caked with grime. Needs water to clean it.
How much should something like this cost
My photo made it ❤️
You are officially youtube famous
@@HVACS I knew all the disgusting ac photos would pay off
Approximately how much would a company charge for this service? I was quoted over $1K.
Not one a c tech who has ever visited my house has mentioned a blower wheel😢
Just water is enough lol But, change your filter and you'll never have to...
They never need cleaning if you replace the filter every month.
Omg. We thought it needed replacing 1x per year.
Is it overlooked, or AVOIDED? Lol, better add blower wheel pull and cleans to your spiff sheets!
Don't you need to address how it got in this condition? No filters in place, no filter changes ever, etc.
I think we need To do this to husband I think this could be problem
Anybody run Into the motor burning up or failing after being cleaned and running at full speed again?
Oh gosh. No way.
If the motor windings got wet and were not allowed to dry out, than yes its probable.
So, is this worth paying a company $389 to do this?
I subscribed your channel and watching your videos all great learning videos .but You are speaking so fast and it's difficult to understand specifically for international students or English as second language . I prefer to speak slowly so everybody understand well.
You can always play the video at a slower speed on the settings at top right
I'll be butthead #2... "Air Conditioner blower wheel" Does that exist?
Frank Gay wants to charge me 1300 to do this service?....Get the f out of here!!!!
everyone wants u to be their janitor f that.
I'll be whatever they want but I'm going to bill for it!
