    Interesting what you were saying about main channel videos... I actually find vlogs 100% more inspiring than sit down vids as we are seeing you actually in your classroom and talking about what you are doing while you are doing it - it's so much more motivating!

    • @BridgingLiteracy
      @BridgingLiteracy  8 лет назад

      Yes I agree. I was thinking more instructional and directed discussion. During the daytime Vlogs I have so much going on that it can be difficult to actually share tips and strategies in a meaningful way.

    I love your vlogs. I always get excited seeing them pop up on my feeds! I get so many great ideas to share with my 3rd grade kiddos. We did the grammar lesson you talked about on Friday and my kids LOVED it! Who knew grammar could actually be fun, One student asked. Thank you for sharing! This is my 3rd year teaching and I am only 24 years old, I get so many great ideas and want to make learning fun for my kiddos as much as I possibly can!

    First day went pretty well. Of course, I am a perfectionist, so I'm never completely satisfied. 😉
    We spent a lot of time organizing supplies, as usual. (My kids bring their own.). I had them complete your Reader and Learner surveys. Spanish went right up to dismissal, but I had the kids packed up ahead of time, so there was no chaotic rushing. Now to plan for tomorrow!

    Lol! I just thought about the choice boards when you mentioned that other spelling thing earlier in the video. I am only fifteen but I love teaching channels. I have always been curious about how different careers work. You reminded me of my fourth grade year. I liked a lot of the choices but some of the harder ones were annoying!

    Hi Bridget,
    Let me know if you need a resource that I made for WTW. I made it because due to our short ELA time, I could only meet with them (formally) once every two weeks to work with words. I called it WTW MOndays. Occasionally, I would meet with them as needed. In between that time, I created a two-week schedule of activities that would keep them practicing with words while I had reading rotations :) I prepped 10 folders with the same activities so that each child would have their own. I MIGHT make a video on how I use it...still thinking about it. WTW was stressful for me at first, so if I can help out another teacher, I'd be glad too!
    Thanks for posting your video! Can't wait to see tomorrow's!

      PAWS (in relation to our mascot) is a morning assembly led by the principle! This was my first one and it was so much fun! I'm not sure how often we will have them, but I will go into more detail if they are ongoing.

    Sorry if you already answered this, but how did you introduce the flexible seating? Could they sit anywhere from day 1 or did you assign seats for the beginning?

      She said to cut down nerves, she assigned seating on the first day and then introduced flexible seating. I believe it was in the day before school vlog, where she did her water bottles. 🙂
