I love this show. Have watched it for years. Gary D is a treasure in himself. Very funny along with being informed.
Wisdom is knowing that you’re never done growing. There’s always something more to become aware of, tweak, change, improve, or adapt to.
Strange island!!!
Seems like half the world been there. Dropping things.
Oak Island appears to have been a very special, even sacred place having many visitors, etc... over the past two millennium.
One man's trash , is another man's treasure
I’m still cheering Rick on
I remember reading that readers digest article when I was a kid
Same here
Yup. I'll watch every single one of these things. Hahaha
Oh, whoa. I own several pieces of Venetian glass, but nothing that old.
I wish they’d hurry up and give us Season 11 in Australia!
just started on SBS 2 on thursday night
I love this show and I love the History that is revealed! There was a time when I worked for Colonial Williamsburg and toured the whole place, which was a requirement before beginning the job. It opened my eyes in a way that the history books couldn't. And I've loved history ever since. Thank you for having this story of Oak Island on your channel! My daughters watch it too! It's presented in a way that is similar to a ball game. You keep cheering for your team to win and uncover the secrets! ❤

These guys would go bonkers in a landfill
LOL!!!
History is changed because of this show.
Right, History used to be about history now its all lies and folk tales
Drink every time Gary say MATE. Use beer not liquor
LMAO I made the mistake and used whiskey.
Yep. Every time Rick says ‘Construct’ this season.
Tee hee 😂

This week on oak island Garry finds a top pocket coke bottle top which might belong to Williams Phips, "plays a clip" from last week reminding you who Phips is. “Advert”
Then plays the Phips clip again incase you forget who he was since the adverts was on" close up clip of the coke bottle top.
Then plays another reminder who Phips is just for luck.
The discoveries the fellowship of the fig keep finding are amazing, and iam looking forward to season 12 👊

Wow, what a truly mesmerizing find!
I understood that it was "THRILLING"..... and did you notice that the video title says that those finds were made in the Garden Shaft... LOL!!!
Looking forward to Season 69 😊
One day he will find a beer can and say what a wonderful discovery it is
Especially if it's an old Strohs beer can from Michigan!

Why not? It’s just a tv show! They are not being televised for free! It’s just another TV show and why should they stop?
I'm turning into Gary Potter. 🤣!
Gary Potter😅
The guy on the excavator… Giorgio Tsoukalos really let himself go 😊
Barely recognized him but the hair was a giveaway.
That's funny as heck! A doppelganger???
If the narrator didn't speak in questions...🤣🤣🤣🤍💙🧿
Some dirt? With nothing in it? On Oak Island? Could this be the connection to the Holy Grail?

I'm tuning in the minute they find an ancient alien spaceship. 😂
LOL!
Enjoy watching this show rather watch it than golf
thats not the garden shaft its the all seeing eye swamp or the "triangle swamp", but yes love this show, so much science and thinking and hard working its got quality learning
That shoe might give them the answer to who was using or transporting all that pottery
U guys should use a diving bell ship check it out might help the water problem if u can find were the water is coming in lol

What is the outro song at the end of this video
It's a mystery, nobody ever made it that far 😂
Congratulations are in order you have discovered the dump from Seven' heeen U'ndred ,baby and last week you found the road to the dump from the Seven'heen U'dreeds ,baby ...top pocket show. Now it's the Portuguese, whos next Pollocks from Poland
If they would bother look into old time construction practices, it was considered good luck to put a coin, typically a penny, on top of one of the foundation stones, then the structure was built on top of it.
This reminds me of al capones vault.
There is a rube born every second.
More gold....yea !
What gold???
Lol at the dude on the digger
Hey! Billy Gerhardt's the Man and he can "dig it" !
Yeah, that is the local garbage dump!! 😅😅😅
Possibly perhaps maybe could it be ?
"It's been in there awhile " Amazing. These guys are rewriting history.
This story is real I saw an article years ago I think in a farmer's almanac when I was a teenager that was way before the brothers even around so the treasure is or was there I wish I could go to the island
Yes, it is very real. The book written by D'Arcy O'Connor (1988) gives an excellent overview of Oak Island. Used copies are available on the Internet. Mr. O'Connor spent a long time on Oak Island decades ago and is still involved with it. Also, the Canadian government did extensive research up there in the 1990's.
@@johnwoawow how stupid can someone be to believe this bullcrap
Yeah there's directions right on the stone you know
Im amazed this show is still on the air.
Watch them find something that is going to shock them so much, that until they figure it out, they are awstruck an baffled by it!~ Later on in the season!~
I like it when the narrator always says when they find something, could this be a sign that someone buried treasure her, could this be from back in the 1700,
OMG a British coin found in a former British colony. That's unheard of.
Artifact found on lot#7 right next to lot#8 😅
Wow, the pottery. 😳 Just those shards are probably worth thousands of dollars.
Why would they be worth anything?
Uh, no, no they're not.
@@reaper7264 Because Chinese Ceramics of antiquity are one of the most desirable and valuable fields of antiques and collectibles. Depending on the age and provenance, even just the shards can be valuable. Not like, a million dollars or anything. But the whole pieces, again depending, can be worth that.
probably not.they are just shards with very little pattern on them. Old doesn't mean valuable. It's just broken dishes. Complete examples may be worth something on the other hand, but probably not a lot. And they aren't Chinese. Not that that would make a difference.
Them pirates had a good time drinking rum from a teacup...!
Gary is never short of an cheesy joke.
Just an english soldier that lost a penny working on the island…. English, French were already in the area centuries before 1770
Does Billy ever get out of that excavator?
Yep!
Ha,ha,ha, ancient boot!
The curse of oak island..
The curse of Snake island..
The curse of frog island..
Island in the stream.. the curse of kenny rogers and dolly porton…😂
Carbon 14 is only reliable if article is 3000 yrs or older. Example: board found in swamp test to be 400yrs old. But that board was made from a 300 yr old fallen oak tree. So board could taken from a 1924 house on the island.
Hi Al
You guys should check out the treasure dog of maine
I enjoyed this show for years, never missed an episode. That is until my Xfinity service got so bad that I couldn't watch TV at all if the wind was blowing or if it was raining. After two years of them telling me there was nothing wrong, they finally told me the trouble was in my house. I ran a single high quality cable from the house entry to the back of the TV and the trouble persisted. after a few more service calls and rate increases with no improvement, I cut the service and installed an antenna. Oh well...
....still no gold or precious stone.
This guys know how to “milk the cow”.. I have to admit that I los plenty of time watching this show 🤦🏻♂️
No Canadian dairy cows are being harmed in the milking process to prolong this show........
I fully agree with so many others that the show can be a bit boring at times , however what this show has proven is that over the centuries there have been an incredible amount of different people to visit this small little island over the years , what it all means and the reasons behind their visits is now more interesting than whether or not there is a treasure buried there or not ! The more finds they make it appears that for whatever reasons people have been visiting this one little piece of land for hundreds of years , there has to be a reason why this has been happening , it would appear that the British , the French and other nations have all visited at some time in the past . And in many cases it seems they have made a concerted effort to hide their actual presence on the island , there must be some reason for the secrecy , I look forward to actually finding out if one of these groups will actually rewrite the history of the Americas !
Well said! If you are familiar with Mahone Bay, you will know that there are over 360 islands and little Oak Island is one of them. Did you know that Oak Island was the only island in Mahone Bay that had those towering non-indigenous Canopy Oak Trees that lined the east shore adjacent to Smith's Cove. They were clearly planted there in the very distant past to serve as landmarks so Oak Island could be located on the horizon by rowing/sailing vessels coming into Mahone Bay. The last ("dying") Canopy Oak Tree remained in 1958. They are all gone today. There are old archival photos of the trees on the Internet.
Actually I did read about the trees , this only reinforces my opinion that for whatever reason this island has had a very interesting history for a long long time ! Who came there first is probably going to a mystery for ever , unless there is some sort of evidence that will show their arrival date . I'm sure that something of great importance has been deposited on the island , it may not be gold and jewels , but the efforts to hide whatever it is and try to hide the facts of how many people have visited at different times is fascinating ! Is it the same people coming back time and time again over the years , or is it other groups of people completely ? I just hope that the secret is revealed before I die !!
@@coonarick I hope this Reply gets through and that the AI/Algorithm doesn't delete it. As for the "secret", the Canadian government is heavily involved with this and has been for decades. A discovery that would create geopolitical controversy might be kept from the public and Classified. As for "who came there first" would be beyond the scope of a Reply. I have researched this for many years and my take on this is that the original depositors were "ancient". I believe that the 90-foot stone was very real. The symbols that were allegedly carved on the stone first came to light in a crude sketch contained in a 1949 publication. Those symbols were identified by scholars to be of the Berber (Tifinagh) alphabet having its origin from before (B.C.) to shortly after the time of Jesus Christ. I believe the symbols to be authentic because the "translation" obtained by that Dalhousie University professor back in the 1800's can also be obtained from the symbols in the 1949 sketch. That is not a coincidence. Also, the 90-foot stone was found in the Money Pit with the carved symbols "face down" in the pit which leads me to believe that it was a Capstone for a (religious) tomb. Sorry so lengthy!

Does anyone else see the features of Alex Lagina in William Phips' portrait?
I’ve found more metal detecting on the beach
During one of the fights, as my research is done, captain kid used to load China into cannons and blasted out. That’s why you’re finding shards of broken Japanese, China and Japanese money because of when he was over on the other side of the world captain kid.
You are correct with your research, but you need to get his name correct (i.e. Capt. Kidd). He is the one who originally discovered shrapnel and how effective it was as a weapon when he took it upon himself to load fine china, tea sets, dinner plates, nails, worthless coins, etc... anything into cannons when there was a scarcity of cannonballs.
They should be digging in Egypt. Might find something cool.
I’m quite sure they would find Eskimo skies there 😂😂😂
I’m cursed watching it !!!!

Archaeology.......
This show is a modern day Gilligan Island. No body ever came off the island and no one will ever find a tresure

What the heck is an narf penny 😂
Gary is saying "... or a Half Penny".
It's so funny how Gary just refuses to do any actual digging himself. Not with a shovel & certainly not with his own bare hands.
Dam, us brits get everywhere😂
Maybe the only treasure is the money being made is by television shows? How many years of mud and disappointment can be televised?
They don’t believe that any could find this fortune and keep quiet about it,but that’s what happened.
If it's religious in significance and possibly a tomb, the Canadian government will Classify it and keep it from public knowledge.
There is nothing there, for the last time start using common sense. This is a con job for ratings and it’s succeeded by the fact that it has been on for a decade. You can’t possibly believe that 200 plus years ago that a fortune was buried over 100 feet deep and now with all of mankind’s wealth and resources these idiots can’t even dig down 60 feet with out a million problems. They are con artists who know what people will believe. Just because they find something old doesn’t mean it was there from the original pit. Plenty of people have old trinkets and lose them all the time. Most likely it was a trading outpost that served maritime interests and it anybody found anything it was that old guy who became rich growing cabbages, not very likely. He may have found a good stash of silver and kept his mouth shut and laundered it through his farm business, so as not to draw attention to a former slave , but us thinking that they are going to be able to find something is foolish
Where the Gold? Perhaps in season 38!
When they found the first piece you would think they would stop using the excavator. 🤦 They are destroying anything else there. What are these guys rookies?
You’ve found an ancient garbage tip, interesting, but not treasure
Certainly not uncommon for the cook or galley boy to dump any broken garbage over the side when in port. And that garbage can tell us a lot about the people who dumped it. The star experts digging through the mud by hand is just for show drama. I can only imagine the mass of real artifacts they are losing by not running all the dirt through a trommel and range of screens.
Stunning!!! Popular pottery in the place expected!!!😂. Still inventing an absurd non sense story??😅
I have a 1788 cent from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts....I found as a child on the Auchnet river next to a ship/boat that was on its side. That was 1976/77
Your Comment is very interesting as I have been interested in Numismatics since I was a child. The first U.S. Large Cent minted for circulation was in 1793 so your coin is earlier than that. It is worth A LOT of money so safeguard it.
@@johnwoa that's interesting....I have been keeping it safe for years now. May I ask your opinion on whether I should send in to be graded. The date is clear ...there is an Indian holding some arrows in one hand and a long bow in the other.....the reverse says cent across the center with an eagle surrounding it.
@@debbiblakeslee Thanks for your Reply. I'll try to answer you and hope the RUclips A.I./Algorithm doesn't delete my reply as to the content. I am no expert regarding this 1788 coin but there are two (2) varieties of this coin. One variety has a "period" after the S in MASSACHUSETTS on the reverse and the other variety has no "period" after the S. I'm not sure which is the rarer of the two. Check your coin carefully to see which variety you have. As for sending it to be graded, I wouldn't let it out of your sight! Depending where you live, try to find a nearby reputable coin dealer, contact them and take the coin to have them examine it. When I lived in West Central Florida, I was very fortunate to live near an excellent coin dealer who I trusted. Best Wishes and Good Luck! -- John

@@debbiblakeslee You're welcome! I don't know which variety (i.e. "period" or no "period") would be the rarer one. A professional coin dealer could tell you. I formerly lived in Pinellas County and regularly dealt with Belleair Coins in Largo. They are top-notch and have a good website. -- John
can't beleive this show is still going on
Are they gonna find a Chinese food takeout box next week?
No, because they haven't dug down that far!
The History Channel has another episode on a geologist tracking down the possibility of Minoan ships mining bronze down through the great lakes area.... pre oak island (1500's?).
Did they lead the way... with maps and tales for other ships to follow? They would have followed the coast, like all the rest..... didn't there used to be huge trees that would have been easy to spot from the water? Just how long has oak island been used for restock and trade? The Minoan tale has a ship on a rock the geologist found... some small verification. Plus all the raw copper for the whole European bronze age... which is what he is following. The science and geology of where the minerals came from... not just legends. So you have a ship coming or going from the great lakes area... about to make the long trip across.... ? Even just shelter from the weather before crossing?
Oak Island is not an island out in the open Atlantic Ocean along the coast. It is one of over 360 islands within Mahone Bay, nestled up in the western corner of said bay ("see Marine Nautical Chart CHS4381 Mahone Bay"), and the "huge trees" you speak of were non-indigenous Canopy Oak Trees with origins from the Mediterranean Region/North Africa that once lined the eastern shore of Oak Island adjacent to Smith's Cove that served as towering landmarks so ancient seafarers could locate Oak Island on the horizon when entering Mahone Bay from the Atlantic Ocean. Oak Island was the ONLY island in Mahone Bay that had these Canopy Oak Trees as Oak Island was clearly a very special, even sacred place to the many peoples who visited there over the past two millennium. The last "dying" Canopy Oak Tree on Oak Island was documented (i.e. filmed) in 1958. There are old archival Oak Island photos of the Canopy Oak Trees on the Internet.
It seems like a old trash dump because that fine China was treasured by people till it was broken then they would dig a deep pit and threw anything in it explains the old shoe plus people would pass that pottery down to others there is old Colonial trash dumps everywhere which makes it hard to say who put there but easily when
I have been following thier search since 1988 I just know they are about to hit treasure any day now
