Personality (Prod. by Broccoli)

I am nine years old, the year is 1961… My mother made a cake for my birthday. It was then that I blew out a candle and made a wish for the first time. My wish is this; At that time, Yuri Gagarin will be the first man in space. So I said, please take me with you… I believed so much that my wish would come true, I made a bag and waited. They're supposed to come and pick me up from the Soviet embassy. But I hear from right and left that they are communists. They say, oh, they are communists. I say okay, I'll be a communist too. At that time, university students lived on our ground floor. My mother calls them communists too. I know they are hiding books in our coal yard. I went and ran one. Poems of Nazım Hikmet. I found the shortest and memorized it. I said that if the Russians come now, I will read this poem to them. And they say ok, this is from us, they will take me away. Anyway… The date is April 12. The remote shuttle will launch, Vostok 1, but still no inbounds. I say, they must have forgotten me. Shuttle launched, everybody praying, shuttle so that it can pass the atmosphere, go into space. I just say that he should stop halfway and come back and pick me up. Maybe the Americans were praying that Vostok wouldn't go into space. Anyway... I read that poem in my head in front of the radio all day:.

Every time I read this poem, I feel like I've been to space. I'm 65 years old. On my last birthday, I made a wish again, like a child. Again, an impossible wish. You know what I wished for? To be a good person.
