  • “Espada Y Daga” is the term used for long and short, two tools of varying length. In reality it could be two blades, one tool and an empty hand, a shield, any object can be substituted to replace this flow. Combine it with your single stick blitzes to really liven it up and gain fluidity!!

I find it strangely challenging (kind of always have) to do a proper backhand redondo while aiming at the correct target. That is, aiming at the jaw/neckline with a backhand confounds my effort to get the stick rechambered and so I find myself dropping straight down instead of a diagonal strike. (I am also struggling to explain this.) Is there any difference in your mind between this backhand, and a typical angle 2 in a 12 angle flow for example?

(Rewatching the previous video I think I just answered my own question)

I think you’re onto it! The first redondo you might want to work on is the vertical backhand line. Sounds like that might be your thought, redondos can be all angles such as horizontal, diagonal, and even and upper cut. I’ll try to follow up with a progression on that. Message us a quick video here or tag me on FB and I’ll check the form great to hear from you! -Joe
