Primitive Wood Crow Decor / Lamp Shade Flip

- I take some scrap wood to make primitive decor which is one of my favorite things to do. I really like how it turned out. Then I take a lamp and shade from the thrift store and makeover the shade. It goes much better in my kitchen. I plan on doing another one when my material comes in. I also have a small thrift haul that I missed in my other thrift haul.

Aww Sandy❤here I am watching and you mentioned me!! What a sweet surprise, thanks so much for your very sweet shout out and for also mentioning Crossroads Country Mall!! I appreciate it so much!! I love your crow candle holder, it’s perfectly prim and would look wonderful in so many areas. Your lamp shade looks great! I love that you died your fabric.your fabric choices look great together. Isn’t it a lot of work tying all those knots?! Those hooks are great, love the rolling pin holder idea. Hugs and blessings sweet friend ❤😘
Thank you my friend! And thanks for the inspiration for the lamp shade. I love it and will be doing another one now that I have more fabric. I went online and ordered some right after finishing the video. Yep tying the knots was a little trying but love the way it turned out.
What a stunning lampshade. So simple, but so effective.
Thank you! The shade actually looks cuter in person.
Love the crow and star❤
Thank you! ♥
I make mostly primitive wooden decor, and I have to say I love brown wax on black I guess it’s such a rich color
I almost always add the brown wax to black. Just love the way it turns out with a rich black color too! And for primitive it's makes it better.
Love the crow and star! TFS Sandy

Love them sandy, I did a large shade like that but I like urs better.😊
Thank you Linda! I now have more material and plan on doing another one.
all i really want is the crow and star for my dining room, i have all the other stuff to add to it
I think it turned out pretty cute. I was going to add it to my bath room but it sits just a little too high for my shelf. So I guess it will be in my dinning area.
How cute!! I have a cheetah lampshade ive been wantin to do something with, somehow the cheetah print doesnt fit into my primitive decor, i dont no y, so now i no wat to do and urs turned put so cute
Thank you! It is an easy project and turns out so cute for primitive decor.

Thank you Linda, you are most welcome!
I’ve fallen in love with these precious n so cute lamp shades. (I watch another video of yours doing the black check n off white) You really got me inspired. Got to find the right material though. Thank you so much for sharing.
♥️😊👍👍
PS. Did you hand drew the crow? It’s adorable sitting on the star you also made. Love how you decorated it.👏🌟
Thank you ! I think that is a pattern I already had and made the foot area to fit on star..
Where did you they the pattern for the star I do not have a cameo or cricket so need to find a pattern. Thank for the help sure enjoy your channel.
Sandy, today is the first day I've seen your videos. You could not have done anything more helpful to me. I am very interested in wood crafts and recently purchased a used scroll saw, but I'm just a beginner and need some assistance. Can you describe the type blade you used to cut out the crow and star? That's the type wood and thickness that I have on hand. Love everything you created!
I am so glad you found me! The blade I was using was a 5" 15T pin blade. My scroll saw takes the pin blades. I have used a scroll saw for a long time but still fly by the seat of my pants...lol
Thank you so much....I will be using your example!!!! Marguerite @@sandyscountrycrafts
The lampshade is so cute! Where do you order your fabric from??
I need to convince my husband to buy me a saw like that next. He got me a table saw and I have a small skill saw...slowly but surely I'll have all of the tools I want :)
Oh yes you need a scroll saw....lol Of course the ones you already have are a must too.
I ordered my material from jubileefabric.com They are fast at shipping too.
