Generally speaking vests are a highly underrated clothing item. They keep your core warm and let your arms free to move about the cabin and when you need to add a coat here in the midwest you’re less likely to look like Ralphie.
I had a 6-pound short-haired chihuahua. His sweaters were a necessity when it was cold out but as soon as we got back inside he would wriggle out of it.
🤣🤣 No coat for my standard poodle - it would interfere with her natural cuteness! I’ve never thought dogs were outside long enough to get that cold ….. at least not for a walk. Fur coats indeed👍🏻 GREAT SONG!

My youngest dog is a chihuahua and had very little fur. He loves a puffy vest. He gets cold in winter. He also likes sleeping under the blanket and gets demanding when he wants you to cover him with a blanket. I do have a long haired dog and he doesn't need the puffy vest. I'm guilty of putting them on him because he looks so cute.

I laughed way too hard at this, and then put a puffy vest (on myself) over a turtleneck and jeans and walked the dog. LIke a total normal midwesterner would do on a day when it's 47 degrees out. I'm gonna put on a DIFFERENT puffy vest (we have choices over here, baby!) to take my car in for service. Later, both my husband and I - *he in his tech company button down, with quarter zip and puffy vest* - will go on a date night and sit outside at a brewery in our puffy vests. Thank you for the laughs!!

Hilarious watching the dog being dressed - I have Retired greyhound who has a waterproof lined walking coat,fleece house coat, snazzy bedtime fleece coat with a wool overblanket, and a knitted snood - I daren’t let him see the puffy vest !

My dogs have access to their clothes and they learned to grab what they want and bring it to me, so I can put it on them. My Jack Russell terrier is super chill most of the time. But now where hes a senior he enjoys a rain jacket for outside in bad weather and in winter a pajama for the night. My Chihuahua on the other hand loves a good puffy vest outside from early autumn to late spring for outdoor and a hoodie for indoors. For me it's a puffy vest when temperatures get under 10°Celsius. I don't need more, i nearly never feel cold😅
Funny that I just watched Back To The Future trilogy with my 10 year old daughter, and that's the first thing I thought of - even before the reference, life preserver ;)
For us the dog vest is just to keep him from getting wet! He's plenty furry on his own but he doesn't like getting wet. I have never seen any reason for wearing these puffy vests. If it's cold enough for the puffiness, my arms will get cold!

My dog's puffy vest came with a separate fleece coat that made it a 3-in-1 coat. It was for her on colder days in the Northeast when she needs it, but dogs are no help getting their coats on.

I was just looking up puffy vests online a few days ago! 😂🛍️ Golden retrievers are typically people-pleasers, why they make great guide dogs. 🦮 If outside of their natural area of origin, certain breeds need coats not au natural., especially certain small or short-haired breeds. 🧥

We dress up all 4 of our cats (1 at a time) in vest-like Halloween outfits. Cats seem harder to outfit than dogs.
