Hello Call Me Chato, As an MDP (Melanin Deprived Person) I would like to call attention to as what has been happening in my marginalized community for the past decade. See as a naturally red haired person myself, we have seen the constant replacement of our brethren by those with African ethnic heritage. Gingercide is Real and as less than 2% of the world’s population carry the recessive gene, we are a truly underrepresented and mis characterized group. As female gingers are often portrayed and sensual, lusted after charismatic alluring and often with supernatural powers such as healing or able to commune with nature and animals. Red headed men are more often depicted as the opposite. Most times those individuals are seen as perverted, scheming , murderous , lecherous , scheming and villainous or simply nerdy, geeky, weak and comic relief. Need I mention examples throughout history and or cinema and screen. You are a connoisseur of stories, I’m sure you can quickly think of many and would agree. How often has one seen a red haired male lead?! Hmm or the hero! and if so without then actually becoming a (or the) villian? So, why the centuries old smear campaign against the fare haired , fare skinned and freckled folk!??? We have been ostracized, belittled, ridiculed, bullied, fmurdered and grape d, drown and burn in fear of being witches, warlocks, vampires or even the offspring of Satan himself. We are one of the few true minorities, it’s time we had our stories told and our voices heard and or image seen honestly. C‘’Mon Hollywood, you’ve got to do better.
As a male Ginger myself, I agree 100%! Always seem to be portrayed as the villain, Scut Farkus, Van Pelt, Chuckie, Syndrome, Sideshow Bob….the list goes on, and on. Don’t get me started on what the character of Cartman has done to the reputation of ALL Gingers!!😡
Replacement of white people in general and ginger in particular is a thing. These people can't run their own countries properly, what makes them think they will do better in another country? It's not the land they're living in that is wrong. But it's easier to massively invade another country than to fix your own. When Europe will have enough of these people and collapse, it might wake people up, but it will be too late. I'm also a melanin deprived man, and, ultimate sin, I'm from Germany, but I don't live there anymore, and where I am currently we don't have many of these people because it's way too cold.
The Prince from Frozen, every nerdy kid in every show or cartoon - Bubble Guppys for example. The Warlock from well…warlock But the most infamous person always depicted with red hair, the OG, Judas. As you said this list could go on and on. I have my theories as to why…
I'll add my two cents to this as a screenwriter. The way Hollywood sourced writers was always fundamentally broken. There are somewhere between 50k and 80k+ script registrations annually with the WGA. Someone has to read that crap to find the good ones, and on average only around 25 spec scripts are sold out of that mess. But, the cream did rise to the top, not anymore. Because in order to fast-track that process, an army of readers would sift through that mountain of scripts and it was still too slow. So they started casting screenwriters along intersectionality and a very narrow definition of diversity. Just look what writers are promoted by the WGA, read the bio, it's not "my expertise is this and that with this experience", no it's a casting call listing useless demographic info. Billy Wilder is spinning in his grave.
@@CallMeChato Thanks, I'm in the thick of it :) Been having weird meetings over the years. Pitch a story about an all male international PMC squad, first question: can you make them all female? Or that one time a script was disqualified from a competition for having grid girls in a racing story. Paul, the crap I have witness, I swear hahaha Hence why I'm here now, doing my own thing. There is no salvaging a fundamentally broken system.
@@MarvinHartmann452 To paraphrase Dr. Malcolm, "Capital finds a way." We're in a paradigm shift. I know producers in Europe who deal with Hollywood productions overseas. And this crap has hurt everyone's bottom line. Even if the studios agree to the WGA terms, they'll just amp up overseas productions to skirt around those demands. Hopefully even hiring more writers outside the Hollywood system. We'll see, interesting times for sure.
They've changed my world-view. I have become less tolerant as they've gone off and destroyed almost every single thing from my childhood and early adult years -- Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr. Who, Terminator, hugd swaths of Super Hero comics & movies, James Bond, Ghostbusters, Mad Max, Wheel of Time, The Witcher, Tolkien (ROP) and huge swath of computer gaming - Mass Effect, Baldur's Gate, Dragon Age, TLOU, Saints Row, etc. etc., etc.. Hell, even Dr. Seuss got some of his stuff cancelled!!!
Last Christmas, my dear sons bought me a super floral brooch which reads: Too Old For All This S*IT. They followed it up on my 62nd birthday with another which reads: Old Person - No More F**ks Left To Give. I like to think that they recognise I’ve not grown intolerant but, rather, wised up. PS: I own a lot of Dr Seuss books, me. I can quote all of Green Eggs and Ham. Bite me, Woketards.
@@Ilyak1986 If the last decade has shown anything I would think it's that: "commercial success is not a good measure of quality". BG3 owes at least some amount of the magnitude of its success to the fact that it released into an environment where damn near everything is woke, preachy and awful. I think it would have been successful on its own merits regardless -it is quite good-, but it wouldn't have hit moonshot levels of success if it was facing merit-based competition.
The commentary on the strike made by Chatto, Nerdrotic, Critical Drinker, and others has been more entertaining than anything the Hollywood SJWs have vomited out in the last decade. In fact I look forward to the commentaries the way I used to look forward to certain movies. I don't miss the celebretards and their latest 'projects' and PR.
Perhaps we can reach a compromise. Turn over each striker from SAG over to the American public for review, one by one. Those who survive will have their demands met.
Personally, my feelings are the strike I mixed. I know the people at the bottom have to get a better deal at the crew and whatever the people you don't hear about from that industry. But I also do not care for the studios, the writers or the actors. Because when all three parties come out and call me a racist, homophobic, transphobic, misogynistic sexist and all those other ists. Simply because I did not see the movie, not like it or didn't even hear about it. This is one of the main reasons that Hollywood is losing people because they go attacking The average public goer who lives in ordinary life outside of their ideology bubble. And then they want me to respect them to feel sympathy for them when they start accuse me of a bunch of stuff.
I’ve just been watching RUclips and DVD box sets bought off eBay. So refreshing to see some good writing, acting, direction, set design, lighting…etc etc. These unions forget they’re competing against decades of quality programming. I could spend the rest of my life not watching 'new' content and be perfectly happy.
All I know is that the longer this strike continues, the more I appreciate the physical media I’ve bought over the last 40 years that is devoid of DEI. Thank the days of cheap dvd days at Target and huge cd cases from Amazon Basics and the survivor VHS players and tapes. We are living in the dystopian time that Hollywood told us about, but there are more alphabet people and higher inflation.
Just one more reason I'm a physical media all the way guy. Movies, games, books-anything that I care about I want to actually own and not just have a license to view said media until they decide it needs to be changed or deleted from the servers.
This. Normies don't know or care that there's a writer's strike because there's been little to no impact on the availability of good movies and other media of the past. Now if the unions had gotten Netflix to completely shut down in solidarity (hah!) people might have noticed.
The longer the strike, more people will notice that they don’t miss what they’re missing. Quality control is a great tool for great shows. Quality is in short supply; Control is not. Who would have thought that we would be rooting against (in the Get Smart world) Control and preferring Chaos!
The strike is hurting lots of people. Writers and actors can't pay their rent, the studios are losing hundreds of millions of dollars. I want the strike to continue for as long as possible, it's the best show Hollywood has put out in years. How unlikeable do two sides have to be when a lot of people are rooting for their conflict to continue since that's the best way to hurt both sides?
The strike is preventing the rainbow agenda to flourish? Thank the Lord! May it last forever! I'm tired of all the "representation-diversity-bla bla bla" nonsense that has been pushed over the last decade. It's a good thing we can focus on real good stories and nobody misses at all the rainbow stuff. I laughed out with your Nanny's characterization =D
I absolutely love how this works. Step One, write a movie from a view point that the audience will generally reject. Step Two, watch said audience ignore your product. Step Three, go on strike to get more money, and increased job security, to insulate yourself from the aftermath of having driven off your customers. My own position is that the ideal Step Four would be for people to read books and ignore media for about ten years...then re-engage only cautiously while being ready to retreat should the so-called "creatives" once again disrespect the clientele.
@TheGreatSteve if I'm being honest, for me and my friend on our level of the union, it's only useful for medical benefits. Being frank the Union is onenof the reasons why I'm goign to Stott making my own work. Producers/Studios are the death of creativity and it would be nice if union actually fought for everyone in it. If it's not clear I'm not an A lister haha
You are truly one of the best RUclipsrs with regards to the entertainment world and in general you are absolutely fun, witty and very astute and open minded in your critiques. Keep it coming, Paul! Greetings from Israel
The subtext of both strikes seems to me to be that the studios and production companies exist as mechanisms for actors, writers and, to a lesser extent, directors and producers, to express themselves by paying them to make their art. The idea that in order to pay them the studios need to find a paying audience is simply anathema to them. It's like there's so much money floating around Hollywood that the notion that it comes from somewhere else (except maybe New York City) has been absolutely lost to them. Expecting an executive to want to produce a return on investment for the owners or shareholders is so far from the pale that it reeks of evil mysticism.
So they're admitting that they really just want to proselytize their sexual paganism and have unsustainable job security for too many writers on each project.
I haven't noticed anything different because of the writers strike. I don't care if they're working if all they can produce is sh*t. Keep going man, you're GOLD.
Every time I've criticized the writers putting "the message" ahead of the actual story online, I've been told that it's the producers pushing it and the writers hate it as much as we do, it's nice that they came out and proved my point
I watch independent and foreign movies almost exclusively and have for the better part of twenty years now. It's been rare that Hollywood makes a movie I enjoy or connect with, and over the last few years that's only become more true. If you're disappointed at the garbage the mainstream insists on pumping out, I promise there is an entire world of cinematic wonder out there for those willing to walk away from Hollywood/Netflix etc. and do a little digging. It's definitely worth it!
Evidentially, their strike is more important than making sure that LGBTQ+ content dominates the media or they would get back to work. The studios aren't actually stopping them from working. And what is their strike about? The bottom line is money and insecurity. Because they know that any old computer can churn out junk scripts that have ample LGBTQ+ content. They are afraid the studios will simply replace them with a PC because nothing about what they do shows sufficient creativity, originality, or captures the attention of audiences.
No! They must not cave. Remain strong! Continue to strike. Never give up, never surrender! Go down with the industry, if you must, to keep from giving in!
Saying the quiet part out loud... the strike is keeping them from their true purpose, which isn't writing, it's self-inserting their glorious identity into subpar material you are expected to digest as entertainment. There is no work/self separation for these folks, as if the guy at the fast food drive thru is living his true self every time he hands you correct change. No for these folks, their existence is their purpose, and their purpose is their existence. A writers personal sexual personae should have nothing to do with their work product... but for this generation of utter, talentless hacks, it IS their work product...
Years ago a local grocery store I passed in my daily commute closed. There was some kind of union of grocery store employees, and several vehicles and people were assembled in the store's lot holding signs. Over a couple weeks the gathering dwindled until one young man sat alone on the bed of his truck with the sign leaned up on it, looking at passing traffic. He was there for at least a month, then finally quit. No kidding. When I see this strike, I see that guy.
There are tens of millions of Americans nodding their heads along with these activists as they hear them on NPR, before going back to never paying a dime to see their work.
She's absolutely correct; she just doesn't realize that it's projection. "Right now, there's a very tiny but loud segment of our population that's hard at work spreading hate and fear while attempting to squash all storytelling that showcases the full, beautiful reality of the human experience." -Fran Drescher
The insurmountable fact that SAG-AFTRA and the WGA have to contend with is that major studios are losing money. Disney and Warner Bros. have lost billions on their films over the past two years (with the notable exception of Barbie). What incentive is there for the studios not to hold out when many of them are financially better off by producing no new content?
So, I discovered these things called books that, when read, makes its own little movie in your head. The writer's message is clear, noone seems to be offended, casting seems to be spot on, there is no dodgy CGI AND everyone gets paid!
Imagine living in a world where the only way to feel powerful is to watch moving pictures that tell you you're powerful... It reminds me of when I used to watch my mom's pet budgie speak: "pretty bird" into the mirror.
It sounded a little more Bugs Bunny than Franny Nanny, but overall the impression was pretty good! (Perhaps it called for a pinching of the nose…?) 😊 As always, love your posts!
Exactly, Chato. Make engaging stories and don't try to push agendas--people see right through it, anyway. People WILL vote with their wallets, and it's not hard to see when the studios are anxious to hit the reset button with this.
Truthfully I had no idea that "The Nanny" Fran (massive yawn and laugh) was the president of SAG , I just didn't care as I already know that they hate their fans for the most part. So, if that strike goes on until 2030 I am perfectly good with that, as Korean Indian and Japanese shows/movies do an excellent job at replacing the Hollywood crap.
I used to work directly under Alan Horn and Michael Klausman and saw this general direction coming in 2015. That was my last full year working in the industry and the last decisions I ever had on projects. Judging by what has happened since, I really only dodged bullets. Its sad seeing an industry I used to hold in such high regard that I thought I wanted to dedicate my life to it, destroy itself over political ideologies that it has no business peddling in the first place. Just thinking about how much money I forked over for union fees (SAG and AFTRA used to be seperate, I had to pay them and the Stuntman's Association) is enough to make anyone regret. Seeing them doing so poorly really makes me want to open studios in other states just to give them some legitimate competition. Its so strange the world just accepts Hollywood's monopoly on this industry without demanding we be given some alternatives. Even as an ex-union member, I just can't stand with SAG-AFTRA now. They've become something I don't just not want to be a part of anymore, but they've become something I actively have to campaign against.
I am enjoying seeing the new celebrities on youtube, like Chato, Drinker, our boi zack. Its even nicer seeing the old celebrities in hollywood freak the fuck out. Lets watch it burn and document it as a youtube video. MWAHAHAHAHA
The studios are looking at their balance sheets and are amazed at how much more profitable it is to just show re runs of gulligans Island and mash rather than be subjected to woke extortion and all the stress involved.
I literally pray that either the strike never ends, or they all get fired. I am way beyond tired of the "message". It pollutes everything now and it needs to go away, so stories can be good again.
Every time the writers and actors speak up all of us normal people care less and less about what they're striking about. The VAST MAJORITY of us wouldn't care if every single one of them was fired TODAY. Just like we wouldn't care if McDonald's fired their staff and hired a whole new one. *BUT THESE ACTORS AND WRITERS STILL THINK AND ACT LIKE THEY'RE THE MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE ON THE PLANET AND THAT EVERYONE WORSHIPS EVERY MOVE THEY MAKE!*
"no one is against alphabet movies" I am. A lot of people are sick and tired of being preached to in movies, but we have been marginalized and despised by this insane age. We are ' barbarians' who believe that there are only two sexes and how you use your plumbing isn't something we care about. Just don't hurt and involve the innocent. There was a time of balance and wisdom concerning human relationships - that time is not this time. Your sins are your own, none of our business. I'm reading, watching old movies, I'll be listening to podcasts again that the seasons are changing... doing crafts and chores. I don't need Hollywood and Antman 4000 to be a happy woman.
100% on point commentary Paul. It really is sad that that’s all these people (yes, probably a few navel gazers as you suggested) are so obsessively consumed by. They should watch this video and take some pointers from you!
He is honest about the writers and actors guild. Don't care about the strike too. They need to be realistic about their goals. What about the non-union workers? ( eg. Secretary, janitors, office gophers, etc) Will they get a raise too and be able to survive this economy? We the working poor don't make their money and have to put with office politics at work too. Applause his willingness to talk about it, especially on you tube. Keep it up. The silent minority needs a voice.
The more they strike, the more opportunities, hopefully, for others to see some movie & TV classics to compare & contrast with what's being produced these days..
They changed my worldview all right, I don't view any modern entertainment anymore. It takes a combination of hubris and ignorance to think that you can change somebody's inherent biases just by force-feeding them a vision of how you think the world should be.
I'm confused. I thought that the union is on strike. But I now understand that the studios have barred the doors preventing them to come to work on their LGBTQ movies.
What a lame excuse. We can represent ourselves without the help of Hollywood. We can make our own homemade movies and shorts amd post them in social media. We don't need dumb Hollywood actors to "represent" anyone

Modern Hollywood: "gingers need not apply."
The Prince from Frozen, every nerdy kid in every show or cartoon - Bubble Guppys for example.
The Warlock from well…warlock
But the most infamous person always depicted with red hair, the OG, Judas.
Very good assessment. Narrowing subject criteria speeds the vetting process.
That explains why hollywood is so awful. I hope they will lose enough money. I don't want to pay people who actively hate me.
I work on set and this explains so much about the writers I see at work. They really are being cast, and the writing is terrible
Baldur's Gate?!
BG3 just became one of the most historically successful video games *ever*.
@@Ilyak1986yeah not so sure about the balders gate being ruined comment myself
Last Christmas, my dear sons bought me a super floral brooch which reads: Too Old For All This S*IT. They followed it up on my 62nd birthday with another which reads: Old Person - No More F**ks Left To Give. I like to think that they recognise I’ve not grown intolerant but, rather, wised up.
PS: I own a lot of Dr Seuss books, me. I can quote all of Green Eggs and Ham. Bite me, Woketards.
They made sure that nothing was left for us to escape to and enjoy so let them keep striking.
@DrCruel Kind of like Nuremberg Trials... but for wokism. A modest proposal. Sounds good...👍🏽
@@Klavieralter I was thinking more Vlad Tepes, but ok.
The Film Actors Guild is doing a great job. Leading their members off the cliff 🤷🏻♂️
I wonder if they realize just how much the commoners hate them.
The criterion edition DVDs & online offer amazing films. Which wipes the floor with films
from Hollywood.
Hollywood will probably go the way of Vaudeville and other entertainments of bygone eras, it just can’t keep up with the changing times.
It was nice of them to put it bluntly that they care about social engineering and not creating entertainment.
I was hoping for a Fran Drescher laugh, but aside from that, the impression was spot-on.
Strike means Actors and writers unable to push their agenda?… let’s hope the strike never ends 🤣
VHS is still dirt cheap in a lot of places, although I'm inclined to go with DVD for ease of ripping to a home media server.
I just read The Guns of Navarone, and was disgusted that they gender swapped two main characters for the movie. In 1962. This goes deep
Libraries offer superior films on DVD & online than Hollywood.
This. Normies don't know or care that there's a writer's strike because there's been little to no impact on the availability of good movies and other media of the past. Now if the unions had gotten Netflix to completely shut down in solidarity (hah!) people might have noticed.
May the strikes last forever
I'd like Elon to start a film & streaming studio.
Damn that would be good.
@@CallMeChatoSame. It's getting old to see my comments deleted.
@@quatore-5886 You can thank RUclips, I have it set to do it automatically. Did you flame someone?
The longer the strike, more people will notice that they don’t miss what they’re missing. Quality control is a great tool for great shows. Quality is in short supply; Control is not.
Who would have thought that we would be rooting against (in the Get Smart world) Control and preferring Chaos!
Bitchy Chato is best Chato.
I just dont care about messaging anymore. Just entertain me. The organ grinder is playing....time to dance Hollywood. Thats why you exist.
Its funny because i never read so much in my life as i did in these last few months.
I also never watched so little tv/streaming.
Speaking as a straight white cis male actor, this push for "diversity" has completely killed my and many people I know, careers.
Why do you insult yourself by calling yourself Cis... it's definitely a slur... don't help propel that sh!t forward.
I bet the union doesn't help you either?
@TheGreatSteve if I'm being honest, for me and my friend on our level of the union, it's only useful for medical benefits.
Being frank the Union is onenof the reasons why I'm goign to Stott making my own work. Producers/Studios are the death of creativity and it would be nice if union actually fought for everyone in it.
If it's not clear I'm not an A lister haha
You are not cis. You are just normal. Don't use their marxist language as it helps to give them power. Equity just means racism.
Yep! The left's bigotry is often spelled out in clear B&W on their submission pages!
I dont want any of them going back to "work". Things are just fine as it is now!
You are truly one of the best RUclipsrs with regards to the entertainment world and in general you are absolutely fun, witty and very astute and open minded in your critiques. Keep it coming, Paul!
Greetings from Israel
Wow, thank you!
Hollywood: We don't make propaganda!.....Hollywood: Why won't you let us make our Propaganda?
The subtext of both strikes seems to me to be that the studios and production companies exist as mechanisms for actors, writers and, to a lesser extent, directors and producers, to express themselves by paying them to make their art. The idea that in order to pay them the studios need to find a paying audience is simply anathema to them.
It's like there's so much money floating around Hollywood that the notion that it comes from somewhere else (except maybe New York City) has been absolutely lost to them.
Expecting an executive to want to produce a return on investment for the owners or shareholders is so far from the pale that it reeks of evil mysticism.
That’s because Hollywood is now third generation actors who don’t know that money comes from customers and not some magic credit card
Local library offers criterion edition media. Best filmmakers from around the globe.
'Sorry, you'll have to lose money slower for awhile until we sort this out.' Somewhere Disney execs are flipping tables.
There are tens of millions of Americans nodding their heads along with these activists as they hear them on NPR, before going back to never paying a dime to see their work.
I still can’t believe the GOP is not trying to defund NPR, literally a hard left propaganda outlet.
Loved the critical drinker podcast more please
MWAHAHAHAHA
Ah so one of the positives of the strike. Pans out they'd make this kind of excuse. It always pans back around to the alphabet mafia.
Hold on... wait a sec.... the entertainment industry is supposed to be entertaining?
Chato is going "full bitchy" and I'm here for it.
"no one is against alphabet movies"
I am.
When they say “worldview “ it’s just their view of Hollywood. Not reality. I been says this for years now Hollywood makes movies for Hollywood.
( eg. Secretary, janitors, office gophers, etc)
Will they get a raise too and be able to survive this economy?
We the working poor don't make their money and have to put with office politics at work too.
Applause his willingness to talk about it, especially on you tube.
Keep it up.
The silent minority needs a voice.
The more they strike, the more opportunities, hopefully, for others to see some movie & TV classics to compare & contrast with what's being produced these days..
2:24 I just came here to have fun and honestly i'm feeling so attacked rn lol
They changed my worldview all right, I don't view any modern entertainment anymore. It takes a combination of hubris and ignorance to think that you can change somebody's inherent biases just by force-feeding them a vision of how you think the world should be.
Worldview changing stories: there you have it. These "writers" aren't entertainers. They're missionaries.
See, this sanity is why I'm subscribed. Thank you for pointing out why Hollywood is circling the drain.
I'm confused. I thought that the union is on strike. But I now understand that the studios have barred the doors preventing them to come to work on their LGBTQ movies.
I guess I can’t watch the NBA anymore since I don’t see myself represented there. Bummer!!
What a lame excuse. We can represent ourselves without the help of Hollywood. We can make our own homemade movies and shorts amd post them in social media. We don't need dumb Hollywood actors to "represent" anyone
I’m okay with sending Dalton to prison these days. I used to hate McCarthy, now I feel he was right.
The plan is going well a complete cleaning house of these woke trash writers.can’t wait for shows and movies go back to being good.🙌🏽
Wait, wait, wait. Is CRABTREE a real surname?!?! Not a humorous one fit only for comedies?
Good moaning.
More impressions please! Great stuff!
Taking my cue from Gary at Nerdrotic, I refer to the Film Actors Guild.
Hopefully, the strikes will last FOREVER 😂
So, the wheels fell off the parade float and its drifting listlessly like its 2 : 00 am and the bars closed and there were no takers.
The Film Actors Guild is very annoying.
Interesting how they admit it.
Being that Chato is becoming famous, it’s time for the colored glasses. What do you think? Purple? Blue? Green to match your outfit? This is an important decision.
Maybe a pair of Oversize Joplin Style Hippie Rounds.
Ooooo. You’ve got style!
Your voice imitation of Fran Drescher is almost as irritating as the real person.
