This bookstore has some hard-to-find items. In my very first visit, I was so very lucky to see an art book on Jacob Lawrence behind the cashier and snatched it right away.

City Lights has a big advantage in today's retail business climate: thieves don't steal books.

There's an unusual densely packed bookstore of all used books at 799 14th St. In S.F. I prowled around in yesterday. Owner also sells handmade bookshelves. Lots of art books, lots of poetry, literature, even comic books. Everything is used. Right on the North East corner. Check it out. He has no sign, but easy to spot.

Author Christopher Moore has immortalized this store by featuring it in many of his stories
