I have the exact same setup for a short while. I found the Zu dirty weekend did not work with my 8200 with Mundoff and Lundhal upgrade. I returned the Zu. I used my 8200 with LS3/5a as near field and it is amazing.

Really? I have Mundorfs aswell, but not the Lundahl upgrade.. Is it worth it what do you think? Meanwhile I tried many NOS 6L6 tubes and I must say the NOS stuff is really extra magic. Try to get 6L6G with ST glass and grey coat and pair this with RCA clear tops 5814, this combination is the best... With other 6L6s the RCA clear tops are not the most winning combo, so I find RCA black plate triple mica much better, but with 6L6G (I have Fivre and National Union) it's the best.

@@gasperhabjanic2115 installing the Lundhal opt will refine the sound. I have been using 8600 as my main amp for a while now. 8200 is my desktop amp and I am looking for a small near field speaker for it. So I have stopped investing time and money on the tube for the 8200. Does your zu speaker have Claritycap ?

@@coolpkduck I built a 8600 aswell, but it's at my friend's for a long time so I didn't compare it well. Meanwhile I built a Yamamoto a08s (45 tube) and I think it's better in some ways then 300B, but it has only 2 watts obviously. I don't have ZUs anymore though I'm sure I'll buy DW6 some day. I owned 4 pairs (Omen 1, Druid IV, Omen DW, Druiv V). Yes, the DW had a Clarity Cap MR, I upgrade it by myself.

What stands are the speakers on?
Does it help with boomy basS?

I didn't have so much trouble with boomy bass. These are rock-granite plates and I think it helped a little bit. I had them quite opened, you see there is about 3cm gap between the plates and the speakers. The bass was more opened and more "free" and sometimes a little bit boomy (at some frequencies), but if I closed the gap to just 1cm or less, the bass was more tight, and there was less of it. So it depends what you like and how much impact it has in the room they are placed.

How did you get black ring and tweeter guide?

It's just black anodized finish - you can special order it from them. Easy peasy. I almost did it with mine but it does add quite a bit of lead time to getting your speakers. The upper tier finishes and special order add time as they finish the plain vanilla orders first in batches.

Hey how is the Elekit TU8200R do you still like it? Yo think there is anything that can compare in this price range? I did lots of reserach and it looks like this is great bang for the buck :) Did you ever try their TU8600R ? Is there anyway i could contact you as i have few more questions :)
    Thank you.

Hey. I like 8200R a lot! I doubt there's anything that can compare with it in this price range. I upgrade it with Takman resistors and Mundorf coupling caps and I bought quite some NOS 6l6 tubes, RCA black plate, Fivre 6l6g etc, Rca 807 and ecc82s aswell... Soon I'll upgrade the output trafos with Lundhals too. It's really a great amp. It doesn't have a special caracter, maybe it lacks some romantics.. Of course you should have some 93db+ speakers. I owned Druid V and it was great, now I have a Klipsch Heresy 3 and it's even better :)
Regarding TU-8600R, I built it and it's a great amp aswell. I have a model with Lundhals trafos. It's more slow and romantic amp, it's hard actually to compare it with 8200R, because the tubes are totally different. Sure contact me: ghabjanic at gmail dot com
