Bob I think that was one of the best films you have ever made well done. Poppy just keeps going you are puffing she just keeps going and loves stairs and steps. Keep your good filming up look foreword to seeing them.
More memories from when we lived in Hampshire, the castle is stunning. So much history, plus the Portsmouth Docks Museum and the Solent. Thank you Poppy, Tara, Bob & Jenny. Take care.
Fantastic castle tour, Thank you Poppy for taking us to the top 😊It is hard to believe it was 2000 years ago, i still think the Romans were very clever for what equipment they would have had but not sure i would have liked to live here in those times.
Lovely Vlog with so many old buildings and views. A lovely day out despite the heat of the blazing sunshine. The church cafe looked very nice too. 😃🚐 Trev n Sue
What a lovely castle, Poppy really enjoyed going up the tower, the view was amazing over to Portsmouth. Nice how you were able to sit and eat/drink in the. Burch itself, I bet it was a cool relief from the sun. The church was beautiful x
Hi Bob, jenny, Tara & poppy, I was amazed they charge that much for the castle, it was 50p each when my boys were young. Hope you both enjoyed it, its really rather pretty. When I saw all those steps going up it wore me out watching, as I myself have climbed all them steps. That was really nice to see the castle & church again, thank you Bob & jenny, take care, lots of love Linda xx ❤
Your right both...it was an Aircraft Carrier alongside in Pompey...ex Navy myself. Strange that there weren't any small ships i.e. Frigates or Destroyers alongside?
May be a bit out of your usual travel but i recommend a visit to Louisbourg Cape Breton Nova Scotia Canada🇨🇦!Check it out online and see if it is your cup of tea.
Regarding price of annual membership, the cheapest options are National Trust for Scotland, which with ongoing membership also allows free entry to NT properties. Similarly Cadw gives access to English heritage and Historic Scotland. Never had a problem with access to any of the properties..our Cadw membership has just renewed at £54 for senior couple, much cheaper than price you mentioned for English Heritage.
Yes, true, but I'm English and I like to support properties in my own country, of which there are many more that need our support. We carried on paying throughout the Lockdown for that reason. It's £92 for joint senior membership of English Heritage, we saved that in just three visits. Also many of the CADW properties we have found don't allow dogs in one way or another, like Conwy or Caernarfon Castles.
Thank you for this video from Canada🇨🇦.Enjoy this so much!I wonder do they have any re enactors? I find knowledgeable and enthusiastic re enactors can really enhance a historical visit. Here in Canada you can dress up as a red coat soldier. Thanks again!

Thank you, yes she's a little trooper.

It's amazing when you find Roman remains everywhere, they were so powerful.

Yes, we'd probably love it, a little out of our way at the moment 😊

Just checked - senior couple membership of CADW is £71, so not that much difference for us. Family membership is cheaper at £53.
Another interesting video. Have you got much left to do in assassins creed?
We bought the Ragnarök add-on, still going through that when we're at home!

Yes, there often re-anactment events on at English Heritage sites. Thanks for building Portchester and Pevensey by the way... 😊😊
@@BobEarnshawMoHo you are most welcome sir!
I say have you been to the ancient Roman ruins in Bearsden near Glasgow?
No, haven't seen that, but did visit the bathhouse in Strathclyde Country Park.
“The original Nelson Column”..? …Glasgow built one to him in 1806 😂😂😂…
Us Scots are always trying to be first lol
That's the trouble with reading 200 year old plaques written by people who didn't check their facts properly. Perhaps the oldest in England? 😅
@@BobEarnshawMoHo The one in Dublin opened in 1809. Lasted until 1966 until it mysteriously fell down all of a sudden.
Lol, wonder why?
