As a completely blind mama of my two beautiful girls Isabella and Georgianna, I love meeting these characters just as much as my kids. Even though I am 100% completely blind, because of the way Disney has trained all of their characters and cast members, I don’t feel as if I am missing out on anything. This is the magic of Disney! They always go out of their way to include the disabled and make these moments truly extra special and beautifully magical in every way! ❤️

The people in the costumes did such a good job making sure you still had a good experience even though their whole character is to not speak. Like letting you feel the sweaters. Super awesome to watch

LOL, they make it so special for me, what’s not to love? Also, Disney celebrates Joy, faith, hope, and love. The magic of Disney isn’t about what you see, but what you feel in your heart. This is everything I stand for and believe in ❤️

I love that they immediately understood that you were blind and started guiding your hand to all the different elements of their outfits. Disney's characters are so good!

Hi Joy. I admire you so much for not being the least bit ashamed of exploring disney characters and other things with your hands for the whole world to see. I’m still struggling with the fact that it IS just as OK for us blind people to explore the world as it is for anyone else - even if our ways may be a bit different. I still harvor the hope that I may reach that joy, that peace, that freedom that will help me not feel ashamed. All the best to you and your girls - and George, of course.
I just LOVE how they offer to take your hand to feel them so you can have an idea of what they would look like, just amazing.

I’ve been at DisneyLand in Anaheim, CA once back in 2007 & I’m wanting to go back there, after this Pandemic dies down.
I have an obsession on when it comes to the Mascot Characters, plus I even have an obsession on hugging those Characters, while meeting them.

Thank you, and that is so awesome! We are passholders to Disneyland :-) we went to Disney World over Thanksgiving last year. Disney World was fun, but Disneyland is closer and is more like home to our family. Disneyland is where I lost my remaining eyesight back in December 2007. It holds very special memories for me and our family. It is the last place I physically saw my babies when they were two and five years old.
And merry Christmas to you as well! We are now back from Disney and I am trying to get ready for Christmas LOL, so much to do :-)

Me, I’m originally from New York, as Florida would be closer for Walt Disney World, although I’ve never been there before, but I live in Arizona, which makes California closer for DisneyLand.
I’ve been at DisneyLand once in 2007 & I’m wanting to go back there, after this Pandemic dies down.
If Joy Ross ends up being there at the time I’m back there after the Pandemic, it’d be nice to meet her in person. 🙂

Love watching your videos...i am currently dating a man which is blind COMPLETELY. Its a sad sad thing.. i wish alot of times he could see... but he cant. He does have a guide dog as well... the dogs name is Kern... BEST DOG EVER... AND I LOVE WATCHING THE DOG GUIDE HIM THROUGH STORES, STREETS, RESTAURANTS.... ITS JUST SO AMAZING TO WATCH... BUT...MOST IMPORTANTLY I WANT TO TELL YOU THAT YOU ARE A VERY BEAUTIFUL WOMAN. KEEP ON KILLING IT LADY...

I have only recently discovered your channel and I love watching your videos! My favorites have always been of you with Toni and Arabella but this one is now my top favorite. Your daughters are so beautiful. Just like you. It’s wonderful to see you dancing with the Characters because I myself am never brave enough to ask. Why don't you bring Arabella when you go on vacation? I've noticed you don't typically bring her when you are traveling with your family.
Disney is too crowded for her to be there and her family can just help her instead
Disney is such a crazy and crowded place. We experience very long days and she would not be able to go on all the rides with our family. With all the screams, crowds, loud noises, it can be a little overwhelming especially if she is not used to those noises. In addition, we stay at large hotels and I am not able to take her out on my own without a lot of Hardwork and frustration. Usually, when we stay in hotels like this, my husband is the one who has to help me take her out to relieve her. Sometimes it’s also very challenging finding places to potty your doggie outside these large hotels in cities. I always take Arabella when we go to visit family, but going on trips like this, even to places like Hawaii, it’s just not the best place for a service/guide dog. I love Arabella so much, but exposing her to situations like this, it’s just not ideal, at least not in my opinion. If I was only going for a couple of days, that may be a different story, but we were in Disney from Tuesday to Tuesday, way too long for a working dog to never get a break. My family is wonderful at helping me, even if I were to take Arabella to Disney, she would not be able to really guide me well because of the large crowds and it being an unfamiliar place that she nor I know well. Even if I had her with me, most of the time I would heal her and hold onto my family anyways.
To crowded and to many people and all the noise would scare arabella besides sweet arabella helping her joy has her wonderful family to help her to
@@JoyRoss thank you for replying, that makes sense. I know Disney gets crowded but I've never been as an adult so I didn't think how overwhelming it could be, especially for a dog. I love seeing how all the characters interact with you, your videos really make me want to go to Disney!

We’re back home now, but getting a moment to upload some videos from our trip. Yes, we love Disney LOL. We actually are Disney pass holders for Disneyland. Since we are from Portland Oregon, it’s a super easy flight. Our girls want to work for Disney one day once they graduate high school. They are just Disney obsessed LOL :-)

Are you sure about that? LOL, blind people see, we just see through sound and through touch. I use voiceover accessibility on my iPhone to manage my entire RUclips channel completely blind. At this moment I am voice dictating my message to you. Through finger swipes, finger twists, touch typing, and double tapping, I’m able to read, write, and reply to you all :-)
aj blind people can see they just see with their hands and ears and heart what a crual remark to say to joy very very crual remark
AJ Please do some research about blindness and visual impairments and how we use technology. Your comment comes across as very ignorant and rude, and is veryhurtful. Blind people are fully capable of using technology, enjoying life, taking vacations, having careers and families etc. Why would you ever want to make such a hurtful comment like that.
