      Yes! I work with Teachers mostly so it's geared toward teachers! But certainly the video can be useful for Students or anyone with an educational Google Email for the Transfer option and anyone with a Google Account can use the takeout option!

      @@clwu98 interesting issue of the slide numbers not showing up, I would try the tips in this video to see if you can make them appear: ruclips.net/video/Lq3A-uSV7qQ/видео.html It might take care of your capture problem too? But you might have to tell me more about that one.
      Macros :) I haven't designed a Macro in PPT in a long time. I remember them being time-consuming but cool to use one we got it figured out! You can certainly email if you want and I can try and find or create resources for what you are looking for. 📩 jacey@integratedteacher.com

      You're Welcome! Some people will store only the ZIP file to use later to save on storage space, but my preference is to unzip the file once I have it and store all of the files outside of the ZIP folder. It is possible that you try to unzip the folder years down the road and if the newer computer system cannot read the ZIP file or has an error, then all of your files could be potentially inaccessible. Will the file probably unzip years later? Yes, more than likely, but I prefer to unzip them. :)

      Is there a way to only transfer certain folders or emails?

    • @integratedteacher
      @integratedteacher  Год назад

      @@christinawebb6578 Great question!
      For Transfer, you get all of your drive and email files. You can't select specific folders or emails with Transfer. The way around this is to clean out your Drive and Gmail prior to the transfer so you only transfer over what you want.
      With Google Takeout, you can select specific folders from Google Drive or Gmail during the process. In the Takeout settings, select Drive and then click "All Drive Data Included". You will see a drop-down of folders you can select. Same steps for Mail. You cannot select individual emails during the process. You would need to put them in a folder first in Gmail and then do the Takeout with the selected folder. Hope that helps!

    What shall we do with the synch files in the Google Drive from our computer when we want to copy all of those also?

    • @integratedteacher
      @integratedteacher  Месяц назад

      Are these files that did not transfer? If you have found some that did not come over, you can download them to your computer and manually upload them by clicking and dragging them into the new account from your computer.

    If I do Takeout and get a downloadable zip file, can I then open the zip file and access the files within it on a computer through a different type of account that is not Google, like Microsoft, for example?

    • @integratedteacher
      @integratedteacher  4 месяца назад

      It depends on the file type. You can open pictures on your computer and view them just like normal. For documents, you can select software on your computer like Microsoft Docs or Pages to read those files. There may be some types of media that only work with a specific online tool or software and are only readable by that specific tool. It will create an uploadable file for that tool, so when you log into a new account or download the software it needs, you can upload that file to bring in your data. You won't be able to open it on your computer without that online program/software it needs to read it, but you will see the saved file on your computer.
      As far as opening or importing onto a different platform like going from Google to Microsoft, it will depend on which data type you are trying to transfer. Email for example will download a in MBOX format and if your new email accepts MBOX then it should be compatible and work. There are many different formats it will download, so it's hard to say that it will be convertible in every instance.
      My best advice is to do that takeout and then try to upload the backup file it created before you delete or lose access to your Google account.
      I hope that helps!

    How import the takeout file to a new account? that is the aim why takeout.

    • @integratedteacher
      @integratedteacher  23 дня назад

      You dont have to both, but some like to have the files on their computer and do the transfer process to get the files to transfer automatically.
      You can do the takeout, get the files on your computer, and then manually upload them to a new Google Drive account.

    I want to do google transfer but I don't know if it will tranfer files that teachers shared me but those files are teacher's ownership. And will it also duplicate google classroom classes exactly like the school accounts's google classroom? Thank you so much

    • @integratedteacher
      @integratedteacher  2 месяца назад

      Hello! I do not believe that the shared with me files will transfer. But you could make a copy of the shared with me file to your drive before you transfer. You wouldn't get new updates but at least you would have the original file.
      For duplicating classes, if you are in the same school district you can click the three dots at your Google Classroom home where all your class tiles appear and duplicate it. If you are changing school and want to duplicate classes, it gets a little more difficult, but this video will walk you step by step on how to do it!: ruclips.net/video/EMf9_44BBB8/видео.html
      Hope this helps!

    How can I use the data in the zip file again? Can I import it into another google account?

    • @integratedteacher
      @integratedteacher  11 месяцев назад +1

      Some of the applications will allow an import like Google calendar. here are the instructions:support.google.com/calendar/answer/37118?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop#:~:text=You%20can%20import%20with%20ICS,Open%20Google%20Calendar.&text=Settings.,left%2C%20click%20Import%20%26%20Export.
      Applications that do not have an import option, you would have to use the exported data from the zip file and manually put in the data into those applications. You could still upload the zip file data into Google drive and save there as a backup but that data wouldn’t loaded into the applications, it would just be saved files on Google Drive.
      Hope that makes sense?!

    What shall we do when we do the google transfer and we do not have enough space in the new google account and you do not want to buy additional storage?

    • @integratedteacher
      @integratedteacher  Месяц назад

      First I always suggest going through your files and and deleting any files you no longer need. Photos and videos take up a lot more space than documents, so I normally start there when I trying to make more space.
      If you have already done that and you are still over your limit, you will need to utilize another storage option. This could be downloading the files to your computer and they can be saved there. You can use different cloud storage options like OneDrive or Dropbox. They have GB limits, too, but it might work to spread things out if you don't want to pay for more storage.
      If you are over by a lot, you might consider investing in a large portable hard drive like this one: amzn.to/45uNSxi and just have a one-time fee of buying the physical storage vs a monthly recurring fee.
      Sidenote: When I am looking for portable hard drives, I search for plug-and-play options that do not require plugging in and require minimal, if any, software downloads.

    I did a Google takeout and I got so many JSON files. Idk why it did that and it didn’t make a copy of the JSON files of the original one.
    Very disappointed in that.
    I guess Google Transfer is the only way. Have to spend $20.00 a year…

      What were the original files that it turned into JSON files? It may have been a file format that it doesn't support and so it gave you the code file instead.
