i dont understand why these looper features dont make a preset number of bars for recording with a precount instead of timing everything right to make sure you loop correcty.
I've got a Helix on order and was trying to read the manual ahead of time. The section on using a Looper doesn't really tell you much. On a side note, a lot of people still don't know a cool feature of youtube is you can slow the speed down by .75 and .50 yet the pitch will stay the same. Very handy for breaking down parts of a song you want to learn. Of course, it seems that there's also a video on how to play just about every song ever recorded. No wonder there's like millions of guitar players out there now. I remember long ago spending hours trying to learn Eddie Van Halen riffs using a reel-to-reel, using playback at a lower speed, then having to transpose it back to the proper pitch. What a pain.
Hey thanks for showing us how to use the looper feature. I’m a pedal man but I was on a mission and found this pedal and it’s GREAT! Only thing is I find myself tweaking the unit and then there’s no time to jam...ya know? Cheers!
hi ..helpfull good demo. thanks . one question ? are you satisfied with the machine with overall funtions .in youtube there are lots of demos including proffesionaly recorded djents or soloing stuffs etc... but i want to ask a real person- other guys seem commercial types :) - i am thinking to blindbuy it . i m kind of intermediate level home player. i bought some strymon modulation stuffs timeline mobius etc . i never used them effectively. nowadays i want some floor type things? with footswiches . do i regret any ?
Is there a way to have looper on 1 button kinda like single button stompboxes next to your other fx, or you ahve to enter that looper submenu to use it?
Bummer I was so excited when I saw that it would recall the loop after changing presets but then when the unit is shut off and turned back on the loop is gone :( Oh well, still love my Helix and there are ways around this by using a computer
Giovanni Spano If 6 switch, click undo. If 1 switch, I believe you can click and hold for a second and it’ll undo. If you stop the loop entirely you can hold the button down to clear it.
well, you answered my question. I am NOT buying this. I'll stick with my Digitech GNX4 where i can record 45hrs of music, play mp3's, have an onboard 8 track recorder, looper, and external footswitch option for controlling the looper and mp3 playback without losing ANYTHING...thanks, you saved me $1000!
you obviously didn't read my comment. i said it doesn't SAVE the loops "guy", whereas the Digitech does, i.e. "without losing ANYTHING". learn to read before commenting please
Dear Tenazxband. I would suggest looking at the other things the Helix is good at. The IR's are amazing and the effects are real. This is for the gigging musician playing out. This looper is good for trying to figure out leads and thats all. If your buying this for a looper only, then your correct. If your buying this for what it was made for, then I would suggest looking a little harder at it. Your GNX4 uses old technology which the effects sucks.
granted the GNX4 has limited tech, being so old (and I don't like most of the distortions/models), and i like the Helix sounds, but with the Helix deleting loops after shutdown and the limited control it gives over them, it ends up being virtually useless in that regard. the GNX4 also allows me to control my pre-recorded mp3 backing tracks as well, which unfortunately the Helix doesn't. I REALLY wanted this pedal, but having to purchase a separate looper, or the lighter Helix platform really isn't a good option and ends up costing 2x as much for what i already have. the net gain just isn't high enough to justify it at this point and I know it would have been a disappointment. unfortunately there just isn't a workstation like the GNX4 out currently. I actually think the Helix should just drop the looper function and stay dedicated to being an effects pedal. I think that was likely the downfall of platforms like the GNX4. they're too complicated and hard to use
Thank you so much for this demo. I just bought my Helix and wanted to know how to loop. Now I do thanks to you my friend. God bless you as well.
Very helpful. This is the only demo I could find to learn the helix looper. Thank you.
Fantastic video - thank you! I love the Helix but had never used the looper before. You explained it really well! Appreciate it.

awesome tip, did not know about that - thanks

Hi, the undo button, is undo/redo? Or just undo?. Thanks!
Thanks!
Nice and useful video man,how you titled the first loop? Dying cat should be good I think ❤️
Great vid and it explained why i had a gap! It may store if you backed up as a guess?
What is the pedal to the right of the Helix?
As for the looper recalling a recording.....what about if you hit save preset before shutting off?
Good question to self... I shall go try this!
Tony Hill did it work?
GREAT
Is there a way to have looper on 1 button kinda like single button stompboxes next to your other fx, or you ahve to enter that looper submenu to use it?
Dennis Arte yes you just assign it to a footswitch
How do you assign that footswitch to the looper? So the looper is available regardless of your preset.
Thanks! I'm not selling my Nux Loop Core after seeing this. Shame you can't save the loop after you shut it off.
Bummer I was so excited when I saw that it would recall the loop after changing presets but then when the unit is shut off and turned back on the loop is gone :( Oh well, still love my Helix and there are ways around this by using a computer
How do you switch presets and record over something you recorded like clean tone then distortion from another Preset
that's why i clicked on this vid...
You have to have a looper in all of the presets
I added the looper to my custom patches, but it doesn't show up when I hit the mode button. Any help?
You need to assign it to a button, then it will show up.
Does it matter where you position the looper in the block sequence?
I imagine you’ve figured this out now! Yes, you want it at the end so that the whole loop isn’t affected by any switching.
🙌👌🍄
How can i clear the recorded memory of the looper without turn off and turn on the helix?
Giovanni Spano If 6 switch, click undo. If 1 switch, I believe you can click and hold for a second and it’ll undo. If you stop the loop entirely you can hold the button down to clear it.

cool story
Well have fun using amps, cabs, hundreds of effects using multiple instruments at once and everything else under the sun with your digitech GNX4
